How did Jasper's young middle linebacker Kolt Thomas look running the defense? #44 I think. -

Thanks a bunch. Yeah, Wesleyan has hard, get on your butt Coach, and he is that way about more than basketball. I am hoping it is a good experience for the boy all the way around. He is feeling pretty blessed right now. Now the work really begins. Thanks again. -

According to a report filed by Officer Toderick Griffin, it began on the parking lot outside of the Jasper High School gymnasium following the Friday night game between the two schools, which have a storied rivalry that goes back 94 years. Police say the situation on Friday was a continuation of a problem that started with and spilled over from the 2015 football season, in which Silsbee handily defeated Jasper in their 76th meeting since 1922. The report said witnesses told officers that both the Jasper and Silsbee boys were taunting each other as the Silsbee players were walking toward their bus to leave following the game. The witness said one of the Jasper boys threw the first punch, and then the entire group began fighting. The incident resulted in only one injury; a Silsbee player reportedly broke his hand. Police say the case remains under investigation, and it’s possible that charges will be filed once all of the facts are gathered. The Jasper/Silsbee rivalry was once halted for ten years following an unimaginable incident in the late 1930’s. It was an entire stadium clearing knock-down-drag-out-melee that broke out in Jasper in 1938, and resulted in the most infamous incident between the two schools when drastic measures were taken to save the lives of the referees. -

Woodville 75 West Sabine 74/Final

Woodville played 1st half like they were asleep, were not taking open shots from the perimeter. 2nd half was full of really bad calls, refs almost let game get out of hand. Christian Williams and Julius Midkiff provided most of the points for Woodville. Woodville got away with a win, but had better right the ship somehow before they face their competition in district, because it is much stiffer than they were up against tonight. -
Kountze 77 Woodville 71/Final
BeyondTheArc replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Boys Basketball
1st half was sloppy for both teams. Kountze provided no surprises, run and gun. Arnold was his expected athletic self, determined, quick and putting up lots of shots. Woodville missed 2 team members, Stephen Thomas & Ivan Lockhart, causing a few series with 4 of 5 players on the court from last years JV. Christian Williams was in a zone, scoring 21pts, and pretty sure he was in double figures in both blocks and rebounds. Dalton Rhame dropped in 20pts with 18 of those coming from beyond the 3pt line, he added a handful of assists and steals. Julius Midkiff added a couple of 3s to go along with his several assists and steals. Kris Traylor played solid on both ends of the court and Chris Castle played bigger than he is in the paint like he always does. I believe that Woodville is going to open some eyes as the season progresses. They should become stronger with each game and make the people Woodville realize that football is not the biggest game in town, not this year.
