  1. Gotta have both to get to/win State. WOS always have good athletes, and Thompson has proven to be a great coach and run a good program. Former Allen coach with multiple 6A titles missed the playoffs with Barbers Hill, even if they made it, didn't have the athletes to make a run a 5A State. Thompson could move over to Nederland, and wouldn't be in the running for a State Championship. This question gets beat to death. You are not winning a State Title without at least a very good coach. You are also not winning State, without very good talent. The chicken and the egg have to come at the same time.
  2. I don't know if it is arrogance or frustration. He has been going back and forth with some snowflakes on here for a few days now.
  3. The normal routine would be to go to school on game day. Should we set up a makeshift algebra class for them to attend before they go? It is not that difficult. Of course everybody would rather play a home game every week. It is not possible. Ya'll act like the kids don't want to go there 95% of players still in the playoffs would vote to play at Jerry World. Wouldn't you agree?
  4. Don't they leave the day before the game? Most teams aren't riding on a bus the day of the State Championship. How many times a year do players get on a bus? I am sure every team would prefer to play every game at home, in their home stadium. Any idiot knows, to win a championship, you are going to have to go on the road, and win a big game. Were the Patriots bitching last night when they had to go on the road and win in Pittsburgh in order to get the #1 seed? What a snowflake.
  5. Highland Park wins this...they have a shorter travel. No brainer here.
  6. If say, WB didn't have to pay their HC for 50 years, and were allowed to save the money that would go to his salary, it still wouldn't be enough to purchase the Barber Hill practice facility..
  7. Barbers Hill's cost 5 million... Vidor 200K...EC...375K. I am surprised SETX has more "indoor facilities than the Houston area
  8. It is, but doesn't fit the narrative. Whoever they get next year, when Jacks is inevitably let go/or quits, will be just as bad.
  9. Well, regardless of the debate, I am hoping for another Title. Hopefully they can overcome the travel obstacle for the third straight season.
  10. If you have young children who are aspiring ball players, bring them to the game, have them watch how he plays. He is going to be something special for many years to come.
  11. It's a different era of sports. Especially in H-F. Worked to hard/yelled at too much. Kids are entitled babies that think they are above an arse chewing. I used to go home and tell dad about practice and if I got chewed it wasn't even scoffed at. More often now, kid goes and tells mom and dad about getting chewed and an email/phone call is made and the kid is encouraged to quit. It not just at HF. It's a growing phenomenon. Can you imagine when the babies get into the workforce?
  12. So what we need to do is set up a makeshift school on gameday, and have the Stangs go to class the day of State.
  13. If you believe Global Warming is man made and you still drive a car, don't recylce, don't power your home with renewable energy, and eating less.....shame.
  14. I agree here. But, it is neither teams "home field". The travel time is different, but neither team is playing on the field that they are used to playing on. I agree. I don't know if Dallas is "enititled" to it. I am not from Dallas, but I think the majority of players across the state would rather play at Jerry World. They probably dream of playing there. I would be willing to bet 90% of athletes still in the playoffs would choose Jerry World over any other venue in the State. Don't rob them boys of that haha.
