  1. Cuero does pretty well against run first teams. I’ll predict Cuero by 14 with a couple of deep tds thrown to our receivers and our QB eating up that secondary on the short passes
  2. And that thinking will be the reason the problem will never be addressed …it’s always someone else’s fault.
  3. Good game up until the end when HF decided this was a free for all instead of a football game. The HF coaches should have stepped in sooner before it led up to the refereees having to throw their hats 🤨 some of those players should have been sitting on the bench instead of making their school look like a bunch of losers. HF coaches = F
  4. …and Santa Claus is real
  5. Same district as last year and Cuero managed to beat whoever we played until the hiccup against Wimberley. I mentioned the sophomores in my earlier post but at this time of year you can wipe away that sophomore tag. If you look at last years stats on our QB he hasn’t had to run much this season but started opening it up the last couple of games and he’s fast no one will catch him if he gets in open field. Holding …really? They just got caught a few times all teams hold and that’s the end on that point. Our kicker can put a foot into it and put it in the end zone can also place it on pooch kicks. He has a 46 yard field goal made this year so we have that in our arsenal. Should be a good game just hoping HF comes into this game thinking they’re going to roll over this young Gobbler team. Friday will tell 😉
  6. Yes we did and we’re young but they’ve stepped up all season. We have 6 sophomores starting from a class that’s done nothing but win since pee wee football. Our JV went undefeated so there’s that to look forward too so the future looks bright for Gobbler Football. We don’t have the horse at RB this year but we do have some players stepping up to fill the void but what we do have is some very fast and sure handed receivers and tight ends that get open. Surprisingly our D is better this year even after losing our all state and defensive player of the year in 4a Sean Burks to graduation. We should have another all state LB this year #10 who leads this team in tackles and is the senior leader of the defense . Good luck to both teams this should be a good game with Cuero pulling it out. Go Mean Green!!!
  7. Same story as last year Gobblers move on… Go Mean Green!!!
  8. Going to watch this one closely. Good luck to both teams from Cuero 👍🏻
  9. Wipe the tears there’s always this year to finally beat Cuero.
  10. Great game by both teams and after the first few minutes I thought Cuero was going to get blown out. Halftime adjustments to the offense by Cuero was the difference and the TE ate the tigers up. I’ll admit Silsbee was more athletic and faster by a step by my Gobblers never quit and pulled it out. #1 is a baller good luck to him in the future. I’m still in shock 🫣 GO MEAN GREEN!!!
  11. [Hidden Content] Both teams deserve to be here playing as the 2 best teams in Region 3 . Good luck to the tigers and to my Cuero Gobblers… get it done! Go Mean Green!!!
  12. I’m sure they won’t mind what shirt you’re wearing as long as you BUY your ticket to watch another team play
  13. What surprised me was the 60-84 combined record of opponent 🥴

Thought a write up on this game might be fun, so here we go. Silsbee (13-0) Points For: 595 (45.8 ppg) Points Against: 178 (13.7 ppg) Combined Record of Opponents: 60-84 Questionable Games: Nederland (2-8 record) won by 8 Week 2*; Jasper (7-4 record) won by 3 Week 10* Cuero (12-1) Points For: 646 (49.7 ppg) Points Against: 162 (12.5 ppg) Combined Record of Opponents: 75-75 Questionable Games: Calallen (13-0 record) lost by 16 Week 3*; Salado (3-8 record) won by 6 in overtime Week 11 (Round 1 Playoffs)* Common Opponents: Smithville – Silsbee won 34-0 Week 12 (Round 2 Playoffs)*; Cuero won 61-16 Week 9* Hamshire-Fannett – Silsbee won 35-28 Week 8*; Cuero won 39-14 Week 13 (Round 3 Playoffs)* *For reference I count the first week of the season as week 0. Season Summary: Silsbee has pretty much been rolling all season with only two close games. Cuero took the early season loss to a very good Calallen team (4A Div 1) that is playing for their respective region championship this week. Playoff Summary: Silsbee has yet to be tested in the playoffs blowing out Columbia, Smithville, and Madisonville. Cuero had what appears to be a wake-up call in round 1 of the playoffs by barely getting past a 3-8 Salado team in overtime as they have come alive since blowing out Sealy and Hamshire-Fannett. Game Thoughts: Looks like this should be a great game on paper. Both teams have very good offenses that will put up points, but also have defenses that will make stops. Likely the team that can execute with the fewest mistakes will win. Some match ups allow for some mistakes and you will be fine, but this game wont. Fun side note, Calpreps has Cuero winning 34-31. I can agree with a score in that range for the teams, but which one has more at the end of the game seems to be a complete toss up. Not a fan of either team, just a fan of TX HS FB This was posted in Smokey.com by a casual observer and I thought it was spot on👍🏻
  15. T.Williams 1846 yds 188 car Natarro 836 yds 116 car Jones 588 yds 56 car Wilson 421 yds 34 car We use multiple (8) receivers spreading out the 31 tds passing Natarro with over 2200 yds passing 4256 rushing yards overall 2233 passing yards overall I like the matchup 👍🏻
