  1. DCTF has it as a 49-0 final. Running click after you switched???
  2. How many offensive possessions for Hardin in the first half?
  3. DCTF has it now at 7-7 in the 2nd.
  4. Anyone else a big Woodville fan at the moment so a certain fan can be angry even when his team wins? When did my Uncle Spidey move to Woodville?
  5. I often wonder if there where will ever be a situation in the near future that 4A D2 has at least one open district. Also, HISD could really assist (first time those words have likely ever been said on here) 4A D2 from a numbers standpoint by not opting up all the schools that could be D2. I have not checked the numbers from this snap shot on them, but the D1 4A district they have at present has 9 schools of which I think 6 had D2 enrollment numbers last alignment. If I am accurate, region 3 has at least 9 teams in D1 that had 4A D2 enrollments. My post is likely useless as HISD will want to keep as many schools together as possible and not have 2 or 3 at the D1 level thus not having an all HISD district. Not sure how similar the D1 districts are to this scenario that house the other large city schools like Dallas, Ft. Worth, and El Paso.
  6. Uncle Spidey bringing the positive! Your negativity actually makes me smile and i truly mean it. Keep being you! I do want to point something out though. There are several teams with bad losses that are included in the projections. Also, 2 teams that are possibly goung to make the playoffs have a loss to Lamar. South Dakota and SELA. Is the UIW loss bad? Yes. Does it guarantee (probably is your persoective) they are out with a loss to SFA? No. Put a smile on that face and enjoy the ride.
  7. Would like to see that for sure. Hope the committee agrees with you. Not sure if the SLC has ever had 3 teams and many years only has the automatic qualifier representing the conference. Now, the top teams are positioned well this year.. Another issue is the addition of the Ivy League to the playoffs removes an at large bid. You likely know most if not all this information though.
  8. Odd scenario with a close loss to SFA and a win over McNeese. Do you root for or against SELA winning out? If SELA wins out it makes your win over them carry more weight, but they finish 2nd in conference and Lamar is 3rd. A loss by SELA would leave Lamar tied and holding the tiebreaker. The fact the conference appears to be a 2 bid league makes me think an SELA loss is better for Lamar even if it takes away from the win over them.
  9. FCS playoff projections. The 3 sites that seem to have been doing this for a few years at least are Hero Sports, College Sports Madness (CSM) and Sports Illustrated (SI). Hero has SFA (1st round host as the 15th seed), Lamar and SELA all in the playoffs. CSM has SFA and Lamar in and both traveling for the first round. SI has SFA (1st round host as the 12th seed) and Lamar in the playoffs. SELA is the first teamed listed of the bubble teams left out. Based on some of the lower seed projected host teams schedules there is a good chance for 1 or 2 of those teams to sustain a loss in the final weeks. Also, with SFA being a projected host in 2 of 3 projections, a win over SFA may have Lamar with a very good shot at hosting a first round playoff game. A loss and well...it may put them out of the playoffs entirely. SFA has dominated several opponents that were a struggle for Lamar to hold off for the wins. Wait, see, and hope.
  10. Birds beat a ranked SELA 14-12!
  11. Do you know if there was any consideration given to simply playing an 8 game district schedule? A home and home set up though not remotely the norm in football could have been utilized. Curious in case the same situation were to occur. At that time weren't the other 2 districts in the region a 4 and 5 team district? I think this lead to WOS facing an 0-10 team at home for a 1st round playoff game. Could be wrong though.
  12. Just looked at scores from this season and last, you are accurate about improvement. Buna was averaging less than 7 points a game through the first 9 games last year and with a 22 point "explosion" in the final game bumped the average up to 8 points. That's a rough offensive season. This year the offense outscored the previous season's average in all but the final game. Definitely some improvement and a few very close games. If the team is young like you state your optimism could be sound.
  13. Tough final part of the schedule. Hoping for a 3 game win streak. Also, teeing up a certain someone to comment on the previous sentence.
  14. Based on the times of the last 5 scores, this game has had 35 points scored in less than 5 minutes of play!
