-
35-7 LU early in the 4th.
-
Pick 6. LU up 28-7 with 6:42 left in the 3rd. Nicholls up 31-13, early 3rd.
-
21-7 half. Nicholls leads 24-13 over UIW, halftime as well.
-
A&M Commerce punt return has laid several in the ground helping LU tremendously. 21-7 LU with 1:49 until half.
-
3 PM. Win out and there is a shot at the FCS playoffs. LU has to be a Nicholls fan today for that shot to be realistic.

[Hidden Content] Thank you Mr. Buddy for posting all the previous information. After the sad passing of a teammate the quartback is now claiming the young man's death was used as an excuse to shut down the program. Strong accusations, but if he is accurate the use of a young person's death to do this is beyond reprehensible. The university's response is in the article. The link is from KALB, however some national news groups are reporting in this as well. -

Scanning the remaining schedule for the LU, UIW, and Nicholls. Odd scenario that could occur. Northwestern's season being cancelled due to the tragic loss of one of their players could leave the conference with an issue. Scenario.. Nicholls beats UIW this coming Saturday must happen first followed by a win for Lamar over Nicholls. Then, if all 3 teams win remaining games....LU finishes 6-1 and the other 2 are 5-1, not a 3 way tie. Lamar is the only one that played Northwestern. Will the conference allow that stand or convert the cancelations to forfeits? Assume since they are already listed as cancelations that is set and simply stands by pre-approved guidelines. However,... -

Lamar drops game 17-7. The 2 teams that are undefeated in confence, Nicholls and UIW face off next week. This game will likely determine the conference champion and automatic qualifier for the FCS playoffs. If UIW loses and wins out after that, the conference could still secure 2 spots in the playoffs. That would be an interesting outcome based on the conferences overall low ranking among other FCS conferences. Lamar host Commerce needing to win 2 of the final 3 to secure a winning season. The 2 remaing games are a trip to Nicholls on the 11th and the finale at home against McNeese on the 18th. McNesse travel to SELA in the other matchup. HCU @ Northwestern State is cancelled. -
LU falls 17-7. Two empty red zone trips, but also UIW nearly doubled Lamar with 459 total yards to 248. Overall a decent showing against a highly ranked team.

HCU making improvements as they move to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in conference with a win over Commerce. Nicholls falls to SE Missouri giving the SLC another out of conference loss. Bird v Bird still in action with Lamar keeping it close. -
1988-90 (including spring sports) HF, EC, Hardin, Anahuac, PA SFA and Barbers Hill played in the same district. Now, we are staring at a possible United and West Brook alignment with Barbers Hill. Time marches on and things change.

Not expecting a massive turn out for the "Battle of Redbirds" as many are still in a "wait and see mode" on Lamar athletics in general. However, no massive marquee TV matchups in the time slot (3:00) of this game. It would be nice to see Lamar's crowd hit or exceed an attendance of 7000. Haven't hit 6000 for a home game this year with 5321 being the highest home total according to ESPN. For those goofy (me) enough to track things like this, 5000 plus for FCS games is actually a decent number. Now, is Lamar drawing that many or is that tickets sold with large no show numbers??? Extremely tough matchup on paper, but UIW really struggled against McNeese last week. Had to have a huge comeback in the 2nd half to remain unbeaten in conference. Winner today will stand with Nicholls as the only unbeaten teams in conference as Nicholls hosts an out of conference game. Go Cards... the ones from the Golden Triangle.

Games for 10/28. HCU welcomes TAMCommerce for Homecoming at CVS Stadium. Nicholls plays at home against SE Missouri (Ohio Valley Conference). Birds vs Birds in Beaumont as Lamar hosts the #4 ranked and 2022 FCS semi-finalist UIW Cardinals. Northwestern at McNeese is cancelled as Mr. Buddy Garrity's posts mention. -
Tarkington (22) @ Buna (28) - FINAL
myrecordwashorrible replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
Dave Campbell's is reporting Tarkington up 25-22. -
Perspective based on the 850 in 2 years Aggie points out. Katy ISD has 9 high schools. At the same PERCENTAGE rate of growth of 27% (give or take a few) every 2 years were occurring there, Katy would go from 9 to 14, yes 14, high schools in 4 years.

The growth there is not growth you want. There are several of us on here trying to not go political with this. I beg you to research what is going on there and the rate of growth makes no economic sense as their is no industry to justify it.

Not me being silly claiming he stated it. That truly is a statement he made. He posted an article quoting his own statement on Elon's toy. -

"I believe history will assess the past 3 weeks as the most productive weeks of the 118th congress." Quote from Gaetz. -
I found that surprising as well, but they still face 2 of the better teams in district and a 5-3 record could see them out of the playoffs. Tie breaker scenarios don't look good for them. Would be a tremendous feel good story if they can beat Sterling.

Very odd situation for more than just the school. Not the forum for it, but if interested you all can search out the reason for growth in Cleveland on the internet.

Some do it because of budget concerns and time missed from school. It can be a real problem in sparsely populated areas for in school week travel. All sports and Jr High even has to be considered for smaller classification scholls.
