Anyone know where Pavliska went? I don't think he is old enough to retire, but not sure.

University systems, at least in the state if Texas, normally have minimal impact at most on an specific universities athletic programs. Likely as a fan, student, or alumni if there is anything related to athletics it would be so minimal you would not know of it.

My 2023 Schedule to attend
myrecordwashorrible replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Football
Short drive for you, but do you expect much of a game? -
I stated this many times on here many months ago. However, Card and others that won't look at this find other things to show opposition to simple math. Now. CARD, I've opened the door again. Question my character or knowledge..it's all you have. Call names and act just like the man you despise.

I will leave you to your beliefs, but when you call a Democrat, and dare i say one that wont acknowledge his own grandchild, more Christian you won your argument with yourself and the others that vote with the demonic party. My idol is the Holy Trinity. Good day.

I do my best to read this stuff and not respond in the political forum, but you've pulled me in. If it's Trump vs Biden, are you saying that Trump is a worse person?

2023 Lamar Cardinals Football
myrecordwashorrible replied to Mr. Buddy Garrity's topic in Lamar Sports Forum
If a kid is "under-recruited" in this area there is likely a good reason or more. Our area is monitored and recruited extremely hard. Schools from the Big Sky have even "poached" this area on occasion. I do like your thoughts on the portal for young men that go to large programs and see limited playing time. That should be and likely is a focus of the staff. -
Anticlimactic tonight and last night, but still this has to be one of the best CWS of all-time. So many close games. It was quite enjoyable to watch them all.

Just some useless talk here. With our discussion of the SEC dominance, they along with the ACC, BIG 12, and PAC 12 have a weather advantage over the BIG 10. Not completely eliminating, but having the BIG 10 disadvantaged doesn't hurt. The other big conferences just haven't performed nor apparently placed the emphasis the SEC has. Yes, there have been good teams and several champions from those conferences, but top to bottom they don't compare to the SEC. Side note....From a Southeastern US perspective the Sunbelt has, at least in my eyes, started to surpass or at least caught the Big West in quality programs as well.
-
Yep, more dominant in baseball than football. Almost laughable. It's as though SEC baseball says we kick butt even better than you kick butt.
-
Technicality, it is 14 out of 15 as there was no CWS in 2020.
-
If I just read things correctly, the SEC has had a team in the CWS final every year but 1 since 2008 and 4 times the finalist were both SEC schools. I knew the conference was dominant, but that's just ridiculous.
-
When you have men's volleyball and field water polo teams you have an advantage before you even start competing for top overall program. Stanford has around 10 programs more than Texas. The fact Texas has won the Directors Cup is impressive.
-
I missed the national titles on Stanford. You did say last 40. There are a few programs that compare over the last 40. Texas very well may be the best ever, but last 40 years removes 3 titles.
-
Just for the sake of a fun discussion. SEC baseball very well may be the most dominant conference of all NCAA D-1 sports. Texas has a resume that is one of the tops in all of college baseball, but to claim its them and LSU everyone else is a stretch. Not an SEC school, but Stanford could argue they have had a better past 3 to 4 decades than Texas. 2 titles and 3 runner up finishes. Miami has 4 titles and 2 runner up finishes with near identical CWS appearances as Texas over the past 40.

We have a winner take all!!!
-
It will assist in making it stronger, but SEC baseball is doing just fine without them at present. What the SEC has done in baseball over the past few decades has been tremendous. Maybe not a year in and year out powerhouse, but Oklahoma added to the mix isn't just some run of the mill program either. The rich get richer with the addition of these 2. Living in Central Texas would be fun during the college baseball season. College Station or Austin for 10 or so weekends of good SEC baseball would be awesome. Could even catch a series at Texas State if the 2 big boys or on road trips.
-
No! We "need" a 3 game series for more drama. 10 games decided by 1 or 2 runs thus far and not a single blowout in the 14 games played. If there was ever a year to have made a trip to Omaha, this is the one.
-
Less than hour until first pitch. College baseball fans, may we have a great finale to a great CWS!
-
Sadly he will only be on 3 days rest come Monday. Not sure if he will be called on the rest of the CWS. Maybe a relief appearance, but even that might not occur. He has been beyond impressive.
-
What a fun CWS this year! Great game after great game. Hoping for a 3 game finale and don't care who wins. Just keep playing great baseball.
-
It all starts tomorrow at 11!!!

Preach!

I will hold of judgement as much of the administration is new. Urgent concern though and it's time for upgrades, proper maintenance, and genuine commitment.

Nichols v. UNO was won by Nicholls. Nicholls now waits to see who they meet on Saturday with a loss available to them but not their opponent. Quite possibly the best SLC game I personally witnessed this year. Errorless game with a few nice defensive plays and quality pitching. Hopefully, Lamar can be involved in a quality game with that much on the line in the near future. Will they? We shall see. Side note, while McNeese's facility is decent, the best part was taking a leak and not wondering if I'm standing in water or other people's urine. Spidersal, you wonder if Lamar cares about baseball...hiring a good plumbing outfit for a few days might be a good start. While we are all complaining here...Lamar has some of the best facilities in the SLC, well until you step in the biggest seating capacity for a baseball stadium in the conference yet also the most worn baseball stadium one could imagine. The trailer park coaches offices, 1 previously mentioned restroom and the big one behind 1st base might be worse, chain link fence improperly installed in the "lawn chair" sections (this seems nit picky until you take a good look at it), and much more that could be cleaned up, replaced, or put together properly would be nice. Some on here are wanting Davis removed and whether he should be or not I will leave that for you all. The facility is becoming an eye sore more and more each season and that alone would cause problems for anyone with recruiting.
