Accuweather Radar has another dark cell passing just northwest of Katy around 8. Good chance for another delay at that time. Maybe they can reach halftime before it does in case lightning is present in it.

Hoping this doesn't happen, but several lightening delays would truly be miserable.

Checking multiple sites and tomorrow could be interesting. Rain is obvious, but several are showing lightening to be a possibility as well throughout the day and into the night. Might we see some games moved to Saturday rather than deal with potential delays?

I have a relative that was part of the HF staff in '74. If I remember the story correctly, Newton was sitting 4th and long in HF territory late in the 4th quarter. Newton then committed 2 false starts and still converted on a sliding catch before eventually scoring the game winner. Hope I am telling this correctly. HF had given Newton their only loss early in the season in a non-district match-up. One could argue that HF has given the eventual state champion their toughest game of the playoffs quite a few years, BUT.... As an aside, that HF group went on to win a regional title in baseball that school year with Danny Lauve as the Ace. Jasper folks will know that name.

If you folks want to go further down memory lane, in its first year of existence (1961) a reginal title was won. However, the team went no further as there was no state title for the low classification at the time.

I do not want to turn a big win for Woodville into a bashing session on the broadcast. Just hope that if they broadcast next week they give more detail. Be fans, get angry at officials, have fun, but please provide us details so we know the situation each snap. I hope this is not taken as a complaint but constructive to improve the broadcast. Love the enthusiasm, just want the detail. For years many guys that have coached against Woodville have always felt it was a school that had great potential. Hope the past few years and this one begin the success that should be expected there year after year.

I appreciate people being willing to broadcast, but I simply had to turn that one off. No idea what was happening from one play to the next. If the broadcasters read this thread....gentlemen we aren't present. Please give us yards gained on a play if nothing else.
