  1. That was a second poor job at an inauguration by the Cheif Justice. Your constant display of your intellectual hubris is cute. Carry on with your brilliance.
  2. Even for those of us that can retire at 30 years of service a 31% (69%) decrease is a pretty high drop. So, most go 35 plus regardless of the rule. At least those that started in the profession in their early 20's and didn't leave for other pursuits, as I chose to do. I will stop with the TRS discussion as this thread has stayed on topic of the BH coaching hire so extremely well. Don't want to mess that up.
  3. I'm an educated peasant. Thank you kindly.
  4. Yep. I usually utilize 35 years. Thanks! Educated I am, smart I'm not. Retirement pay would be 96,600 on a 120,000 average off of 35 not 30 years of service.
  5. You likely know it's 2.3% for each year. Just doing this for those not in TRS and wondering how it works. Older retirees (think 2005 and before) utilize 3 highest years. Ex. 30 years with a $120,000 5 year average. 30 X .023 = .805. .805 X 120000 = 96600. There is a maximum salary per year allowed by TRS for calculation. 345,000 for this school year which of course only would involve a few superintendents.
  6. Looks like he was NC State followed by the Wyoming pick. Not Wyoming, NC State, and back to Wyoming.
  7. Because I know the internet is never wrong..... curious if this is accurate. Reading he decomits from Wyoming, commits to NC State and has since decommitted from there as well. Did he commit to Wyoming for a 2nd time and decomitted again?
  8. Household income in the latter 2 would rank in the highest areas of the state.
  9. Several coaches have been offered this job according to some of you. Do any of you have insight on how this occurred? What I am wondering is who made the contact, was the superintendent of the present employer contacted to let he/she know that this was going to happen, and has it become common place in Texas High School athletics to inquire interests without applying? Maybe it's the norm and my thoughts on this being pretty tacky at best but truly unethical is unwarranted. Thoughts? Knowledge?
  10. Americas? Didn't realize South America was connected to that body of water. I shall engage in some cartography.
  11. Not a single turnover in the game. The flagship schools of the lesser populated states are likely to continue dominating in the era of NIL at the FCS level.
  12. Agree on last statement and did pretty much the same last night. Concern for UIL executives will be if this hurts TV viewership and thus decreased commercial revenue. Money talks to Charlie B (retiring soon) and the rest of that crew.
  13. Many of you likely know all these details and maybe more. Vadergift and Westlake, sit very close to that university in Austin and all will be playing today. SMU qb is from SOC. QB for Clemson is from Westlake. Of course the Texas based universities will have rosters loaded with players that once played for Texas HS state titles and the others will have a few as well. Many neat and actually impressive connections between Texas HS football and the CFP this weekend. Any other interesting facts/connections I missed? Wish the CFP started a week later so as not to conflict is the only downside to this.
  14. Day 2 in the books. Rest well and a long hard day of sitting on our butts watching state championship games. Hard life for us all..
  15. Hoping for several more close games this weekend. The finale last night and the first half of this one have been enjoyable to watch.
  16. The head football coach in districts with more than 1 high school often carries the duty of campus AD. Thus, some larger districts have competitive pay whilst others do not. Although, it is not always easy to find specific names, govsalaries can give you an idea of pay from district to district for such positions.
  17. Flipping between college games and this one. Would love to know time of possession. Westlake seems to have the ball nearly every time I return. Now 35-10 with a little over 10 minutes to play.
  18. 676 on DirectTV. The 'Stros and Rockets home station. The state championship network as well.
  19. Anyone have any knowledge of a possible site? Be nice to see a decent Southeast Texas area crowd support the Eagles somewhere in the Houston metro area.
  20. There are larger HS stadiums very close to Mary Hardin Baylor. That stadium is magnificent for its level though. Possibly the best D3 in the nation, but not an adequate size for this game with other sites available.
