When our tax payer dollars are at stake and the legislators are involved, everything is political. By your screen name, I know you and I vote the same party. Promise you, if this hit the floor of our state government it will get nasty. I will simply leave it at that. I'm not disagreeing with you all about taking care of this young man or any student athlete, but politicians will find a way to make this a problem. Insurance and our government. Think we won't have corruption. Think again.

I may be wrong on this, but the school insurance options aren't always the best and I believe there are quite a few qualification issues and/or cost based on household income. If someone with direct knowledge could give more detail or correct me it would be nice.

You have been on this classification issue for several years. It's old, its tired, and it's run its course. I guess every class below 6A DI is useless, because a larger school/town could say that to any level below. FWIW, the bleachers statement was truly hilarious....especially since the Newton folks have been inside AT&T a few times. Quite sure large bleachers aren't a concern. One more for you. Newton has handled East Chambers quite convincingly over the years while EC was consistently defeating Orangefield. So, your Orangefield vs. Newton does really hold water. If your going to try to be cute at least be accurate. Just a thought.

That will be interesting to watch. It could take 4 years or it could take 10, but that area is and will continue to grow.

For the future of the program, hope this is the case. However, 8th grade programs don't always correlate to varsity success in the future. Also, the class above and below better have some athletes to mix in when the 8th grades are juniors and seniors. Seldom if ever is a 3A program going to be strong when counting on only 1 grade. What's the present freshmen class like?

FWIW, all of you they are bragging on the burger would likely agree...this place is much more than a burger joint. Wonderful seafood, oysters cooked in 6 different styles (if still on the menu), quality steaks, etc. Grab the burger before the game, but go back and hang one day while exploring menu. I know people that rank it above well known seafood places in the BPA area. Enjoy the game folks!

Some of those names may have started on the other side of the ball or have been a 2nd teamer last year. That level (3A) can get interesting with position movement from one year to the next.

Not a big deal, but he put a period not a comma after chance. I belive the chance reference is to the chance of getting to 2000 yards rushing. Some may disagee, but in terms of overall footbal facilities within the SLC, Lamar has what could be considered the best. Stadium, weight room and meeting rooms would all be top 3 at worst for each. Facilities for an FCS level school are not an/the issue. Again others may disagree, but do a search and several athletic websites within the conference don't list the weight room or meeting rooms in the athletics facilites portion of the website. If they were really nice, a University would list with other facilities. Would the facilities being nicer help? Of course! But, they are actually quite nice. On your other issues, I have no real opinion.
