This is the third time in about the last 10 years that Tarkington has beaten Cleveland. Heck of a game last night, Horns had a 17 point lead with about a minute left in the third. Credit the Indians for battling back and taking a one-point lead, late in the fourth quarter. Should be an interesting finish to the district.
No idea who they will hire, but if it is Snelson, he is no stranger to building up programs. An uphill battle yes (no pun intended), but given time, not unthinkable.
Read that the Kolek brothers of Shepherd went to the Rangers area code team tryouts yesterday. Tyler reportedly hit 102 on the gun and Stephen hit 94. Whether those readings are completely accurate or not, Shepherd will have to guys bringing it next year.
SFA's Hunter Dozier (ss) went 8th overall. From what I've read, SFA was basically the only school that even recruited him out of HS. Strange how things work out some times.
Food for thought, DeJesus pitched against Hudson in the single game set in the regional quarters a few weeks ago, not Castillo. Diboll is tough with him on the mound (game 2). If it goes to a third game, it will probably be Johnny Wholestaff for both teams.
I don't have a dog in this fight, but I will tell you that a lot of the coaches from the district were surprised that the H-F assistant baseball coach didn't get a shot at the head job.
