Congrats to Diboll on advancing and best of luck the rest of the way. Fun series to watch. Congrats to Huffman as well, Coach DeBerry got a lot out of his team this year. Carver and Woodland were solid all year and the Falcons seemed to improve every week.

That's what I was thinking. Trotter has done a fine job and is reaping the benefits. New Caney wasn't expecting the size of crowd that both sides brought. They sold out of water and gatorade and were running to the stores to get more. Great support for both squads, two proud towns.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. I won't pretend to see every CS practice or game. As you said earlier, there are probably some little things here or there that could make every program better, but one of the measures of a good coach is one who doesn't lose to people that he shouldn't lose to and to beat people that he might not should beat on paper. Over the years, I think CS has done a good job of this and I will tell you that Coach Sewell is well respected among his peers and more importantly by his players.

2nd and 3rd place from 22-3A has not been decided yet. Shepherd vs Splendora and possibly Coldspring vs Huffman, both on Friday night have a bearing on the 2nd and 3rd place representatives. Tarkington- needs a Shepherd win to be 2nd place team. Splendora- needs to beat Shepherd to tie Tarkington for 2nd and force playoff. Shepherd- needs to beat Splendora to either be 3rd place alone or part of a 3 way tie. Coldspring- needs to beat Huffman and have Shepherd beat Splendora to force 3 way tie. Clear as mud

I should have read the minutes before posting, the year after the 2010 scenario mentioned, the district amended the policy to make head to head the first tie-breaker for two teams tied. If three teams tie, then they have a mini tournament and head to head has no bearing.

Unless things have changed, head to head means nothing in resolving a tie in 22-3A. We had this same scenario almost play out in 2010 and actually had the three-team mini playoff tourney set up, but the results of the last game made it unnecessary that year.
