Bridge City 79 Houston Yates 80/FINAL

No buzzer beater. BC hit a 3 with just a couple seconds left and the clock ran out before we could foul. -

BC only returned 3 starters and one late season call up from JV due to injury. Lots of new faces to varsity ball this year. -

BC ended the game on an 18-0 run. Madisonville didn’t score the last 6:17 of the game. -

Bc had more fouls called on them on the game. Just a fact
-
And BC isn’t? Garbage officiating both ways. Take your homer hat off.
-
15 played just only a couple of minutes if that

He hasn’t started or played a game the whole season. So therefore they weren’t missing anyone they’ve played with up until this point.
-
Silsbee didn’t have anyone missing. BC came out and gave them everything they had, but just couldn’t finish. So far BC has been up on WOS by 15, up on Vidor by 14 and up on Silsbee by 8 and then 9 later in the game only to lose all 3. With only one senior playing heavy minutes and only one other senior on the roster they just have to learn how to close out these games. They’ll never get much love or respect since they are BC Basketball. But they’ll fight with everything they have and make you earn it. I’m very proud of this group of guys!

I love when an obviously disgruntled BC parent comes on here with a fake screen name to rant about something they have no clue about. I'm quite certain I know exactly who this is trying to stir this particular pot. This reeks of "They don't pass the ball to my kid so they are ball hogs". This group of kids has played better TEAM basketball than any BC team I've watched come through here. I don't know what "politics of coaching" has to do about anything. Bush and Mungy are great for a reason. They are two of the best in this area in their class. And those guys beside them know who stirs their drink and they all do their job supporting them on both ends of the floor. Last time I checked two guys can't beat 5. But 5 playing as 1 can win a lot of games, and that's what these guys do and have done for a while. So do us all a favor and keep BC basketball out of your mouth. Don't publicly blast any of my kids because I won't let it slide. -
I’m not sure why it was referenced twice in this thread that BC was looking to fight. Nothing even close to a fight happened the entire game. Bc played hard and Silsbee played hard. Seemed like a clean game, pretty physical. BC blocked a shot got a warning, Silsbee kid shot an arrow at a player got a warning. Harris blocked a shot said something got a tech, Breaux fouled a kid said something got a tech. I guess you’re referring to the gathering with words at the end with the main irritant the whole game. If you call that looking to fight then I guess we have different views on the subject.

You would think that would happen. The girls have a home game for Feb 11th. But since there is mounds of dirt and rocks sitting on their field right now, I'm assuming that home game won't happen.

Are pitch limits necessary in high school softball?
BD54 replied to DannyShapiroBE's topic in High School Softball
It's actually not easy to ride a stud pitcher deep in the playoffs without being a good team. Good teams with good pitching go deep in the playoffs. Having a stud pitcher helps, but you better have kids that can play defense behind her or she's useless. I'm sure they are a bunch of "stud pitchers" sitting home after the first round of the playoffs because the team behind them was terrible. -

Yes there is. One bad half inning and your season is over. Most teams around here don't have one really good pitcher, much less what would be considered an ace. The bigger classifications could get lucky and could have two really good pitchers. But the lower classes are lucky if they have someone that can throw strikes, let alone move the ball and change speeds. If the "ace" has to come out then it's a walk fest because most schools don't have anyone else that can pitch. Even big D-1 colleges ride their aces for well over 300 pitches in a weekend series. There is no need for a pitch count in high school or any other level of softball.
