I think Dayton is going to win District. They will beat Nederland and PNG.

Not to look too far ahead, but the toughest challenge for the Bruins would be Cy-falls and then Katy. Cy-falls is very good again this year. I think that WB can beat them our anyone else if they come to play.

Whoever plays them after Vidor will beat them. I think they are much improved and the Lumberton of old would never have come close to beating Dayton. Just think that the district is far too competitve to crown them as district champs yet.

Cy-falls has been pretty strong the last two years, not sure what they have this season. I'm relieved that Katy is not in our bracket but there are still some good teams on the way to and beyond round three.

I'll give the Raiders their due. I was surprised that they beat Dayton, and I thought that Dayton would win even w/o their QB. The Raiders are much improved, but I do think that it is too early to give them a Playoff berth. Great Win, you beat a quality 4a team. I'm not quite ready to paint my car red and light blue yet though.

I think they need to go back to PNG football, running in between the tackles and short passing game. Saw them play Ozen and they had good protection but not enough options for the QB, nothing but sideline, go routes. I think many schools make the mistake of looking for the long bomb, instead of focusing on moving the chains which eventually results in touchdowns. Counters, screen passes, and more passes to the middle of the field...

I think that it is far too early to write the season off for the Panthers. Ozen supporters and everyone else have to realize, Like Soulja pointed out, the likelyhood of Rison turning a 1-9 team to district championship team is minimal. I think that Rison is a good coach and should be given a chance to prove it. It will take time to turn the program around, just as it took time for the program fall off. It is no secret that Ozen has had its problems athletically and academically, but far too often people make a doctrine out of one or two incidents. i.e.- because they perfomred poorly last year the school is trash....., No school is without problems, some are just better at concealing them.

Dayton by 3. Unless the Panthers get some more productivity from their offense.

You scored 21 points but only had one real drive. The first drive began on Ozen's 12 and the second on thier 8 yard line. What a great display of offense by the indians. (both were the result of bad snaps by the punt team) Which has been a consistent problem this season for the panthers. Panthers had "two big offensive plays, and a defensive TD", Indians had two little offensive plays after special teams fumbles and one big offensive play. Translation, both teams need a lot of work. You can glorify the indians' efforts all you want, but both teams need to improve to be successful in this district..

LCM over Central would be the shocker. Lumberton appears to be much improved but I don't think they are ready for the likes of Dayton this early in the season. 8)
