i can understand using the basketball school only excuse if this was one of the first games of the season but its not so i dont think that them starting basketball a little early had anything to do with it HD has played just as many football games and basketball games as Evadale and they still seem to not use that as an excuse

HD has no player that size nor do they have a beast. There arent many kids that size in south east texas this year much less on HD's team and how would you know how high his vertical is did he tell you it's a 35. LOL 

If Brown hits the weight room this summer he will be hands down the best back WH has not Caruthers. That being said i still believe the WH vs. HD game will be for the third place spot in district and it will be a closer game than last year was. i see it being more like the game two years ago and possibly going into overtime. I think HD loseing gilmore will hurt them more than they think, espicially on the deffensive side of the ball because he made some touchdown saveing tackles last year just by being the best player on the field so without him HD is going to stuggle stoping people not just WH

True blue I will say that evadale is the best 1a team in setx this year and I have seen almost all of them but being the best this year is not saying much. Evadale doesn't have a win against a really good team yet. In the past few years the best 1a teams in our area were beating everyone in the district by 20 or 30 points with their subs playing most of the game this years evadale team is solid bit would not have even made the playoffs in the 07 and 08 district

IDk if you could call Anthony Chambers a runningback or not because he lined up under center but he was a great runner. I believe he had a short stint in the NFL but i could be wrong, i know he played at purdue

Well lets say i am a great HS football player at Central, and i have a real good friend at West Brooke that is a great player and we have some other buddies that are really good at Ozen why wouldnt we want to move to kelly and play for a state championship Together?

If evadale gets past HF i look for them to win out the rest of thier regular season however i do not believe it will be a good thing for the rebels becase the district is very weak this year with team such as Big Sandy, and HD and Sabine pass being on down years come playoff time i think the rebels will struggle with the talent level all of a sudden being equal to theres, because they will be used to being able to do pretty much what they want to against the weaker teams in the district, it actually hurts them with spurger being moved out of the district this year in my openion

glad to hear ridge is doing well he is only a sophomore i believe and will be a pretty good player for coach henry to build his team around for a few years. if ridge can stay focused and hungry and continue to work on his game every day by the time he is a senior i think he can be one of the top ten players in the area if not one of the top 5

does anyone know who the scoring leaders where for this game?

IDK if the HJ kid is the best individual freshman in the area or not i havnt seen all of them play but, as of right now he is the only one that seems to be putting up big numbers on his varsity team so as of right now i would have to vote yes he is the best but who knows if he still is the best in a couple of months. lets see if he can continue to cotribute to his team at a high level

closer game than i thought it would be

Question is are they playing at the same level as HJ or Silsbee? Because right now they have owned the region the past few years

from what i have heard they did pretty good in thier scrimmage against warren i dont know what kind of team warren has but they usually have a pretty sound  team so i guess right now its baby steps for west hardin as they try to build thier basketball program under Henry to a solid ball club year in and year out hopefully they can wiggle thier way into the playoffs

I have not seen the new district yet but i believe that they will come in just short of the playoffs and come in 4th place. they have the talent of a playoff team with a great young coach but it will take a few years for coach henry to really turn things around. but i also think that with the talent they have and a good coach they may upset one of the top teams in the district.

Curathers and burns are good but the qb #8 is the best athlete WH has by far and he will be the key for the oilers to win tonight. And HD 55 I would put ashton up against anyone in the athlete  category in the district

these two teams are very evenly matched in talent, but both teams have showed that they can show up and stink it up with turnovers and mental errors. But every game up to this point doesnt matter when it comes to this small town rivalry this being said i hope both teams play the best that they can and it should be a close game like last year and i will predict that this year will also go into overtime just with the Oilers winning it at the end instead of HD since the game is at WH this year. good luck to both teams and i believe that this one is for the 3rd playoff spot

im suprised no one has thrown out Earl Thomas. The kid left school early and is still only 21 yers old and was one of the best safety's in college football last year.

I don't think HI has slipped they are still a solid team they just lack size I think they can come in 2 in their district but  WH is much improved from last year and they are night and day when it comes to how they play at home compaired to road games

each and every game is all about match ups and no im not saying WH will win but your reason for saying Kountze would win is crazy sports are all about match ups and you never know WH might be a bad match up for kountze. And i think had hardin not jumped out to such a quick start the game would have been a lot closer than the final score was.
