i agree their D isn't good enough to carry them through the playoffs like it did district. their offense is to one dimensional to make some noise now i do think they are good enough to keep the game close but the will play one playoff game and be done. i wish this wasn't true but I'm a realist.

im not just talking about these two schools in the Todd sutherland era what about before that in both schools history which school has a more dominate basketball tradition

you are correct and probably one of the best basketball towns  in the state

they wont make it in 2 years if their district is what it is projected to be cause they can't beat Newton, Kville anahuac, or EC even when those schools are on down years so the best they can place is 5th

1A - spurger 2A - Kountze 3A - silsbee and i really don't believe we have any 4A or 5A teams in Setx good enough to make it that far

i think that you have to give kountze the edge simply becasuse in the last ten years they have 3 state championships to HJ's 1

OK since my other topic Ozen Vs. Lincoln wasn't as  much of a discussion as i hoped it would be it got me thinking, so lets see what you guys have to say about this one. HJ and Kountze in my openion have the two best programs year after year as far as small schools are concerned which team do you think year in and year out have the better players,teams,and coaching

I agree i don't think Evadale plays down i just don't think they are as good as they should be. They have had three close district games against WH, HD, and Burkville and none of those teams are very impressive.  Now yes Evadale has the potential to be a very good team but they aren't idk if it is because their pre-district schedule was so weak and because the district is so weak but they just haven't lived up to their potential in my eyes. I have always been a big believer in you only get better by playing against teams that are better than you

this should be a very good game because this is a very heated rivalry this game means as much to these two comunities as any game means to any two comunities in all of Texas. There is a lot on the line for this one so hopefully both teams play to their best potential and we have a barn burner 

Both schools have a very rich basketball tradition and obviously Lincoln is no more, so their tradition and dominance is over and Ozen is a fairly new school. but which school do you think has dominated class 4A more? ozen has made it to the regional tourney 5 of the last 10 years. I couldn't find all the records on Lincoln but their resume' is just as impressive. so i guess my question is if Lincoln was still around which school would dominate the district and the state like each of them have.

They are not looking to blow anyone out. When they need points the offensive line will make a hole you can drive a truck through and we got the runners that can get there. [/quote] well if they keep coasting in district play and only playing good enough to win it might get you beat by 30 in the playoffs thats one reason being in a weak district hurts a team like evadale

yes that will work until you play a team with a d - line that blows yours off the line of scrimmage then your backs are getting hit before they get going, which when that happens it is a recipe for a lot of 3 and outs and not much offensive productions

i think the bulldogs will win this one but it will not be easy i say Bulldogs 21 Mustangs 14

evadale is def. the favorite and probably the better team all around but the game is at WH and their D is rolling right now but their O seems to take about 3 quarters to get going and they can't do that against a team as good as evadale and expect their D to keep it close for that long. This being said WH will probably be the best team that they have faced so far in district and anything can happen on any Friday night evadale 14 WH 8

i agree and i think the kids would really play hard for him which in high school sports thats half the battle

Evadale is a solid club and the best in the district this year but they are followed close by colmisniel, but their pre district games were against sub par teams and the district this year is down probably the worst this district has been in a while but i don't think that ppl on this board not even evadale ppl are making them out to be state bound or anythink like HD 55 was doing with his bobcats. to me the evadale ppl on this board are very supportive and are just glad to have a good solid club that is fun to watch. they aren't making them out to be world beaters or anything.

i agree and kountze is competing in 2A not 4A

i do belive they scored i think 26 on WH and WH has in my openion the 2nd best D in the district

I dont think Catman was taking a jab at your team he was just talking about the rankings because a lot of ppl on this site put to much into them he was just saying that it doesnt matter who is ranked number 1 or 50 you still have to show up and play.

i know this is off subject but why would two teams that are playing for the district championship scrimmage at the beginning of the year

i know HD has to be the favorite because of years past but other than the tough game played against Evadale, HD hasn't been very impressive i have seen both teams play and to me Colmesneil looks like a better overall team but HD has better individual athletes. Who wins this game and why?

i agree the oilers will win this one by 3+ touchdowns i think their O is finally starting to pick things up but i have to disagree with the statement about burkville might get their only district win against SP i think that the mustangs will beat Chester and they have the potential to pull the upset if HD over looks them and plays a bad game

this game might happen but i promise you that this year Anuhac will give kville a much tougher game
