Aggies are so sensitive. There is a conversation about how LSU sucked this year in baseball, and a typical tiger response (but we party better! ::)) In all this, somehow an aggie joins in to say they are REAL fans (typical) since they went to school there. Newsflash: It's THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS. Of course Texans are going to root for them. It's natural, and it's right. Now if you have an affinity for farm animals, or fake armies then you may feel different. But the majority of Texans are always going to root for the flagship school TEXAS. Oh and BTW Tiger fans check out the May 2010 issue of Playboy. Guess who was voted the Top Party School in the country. Yep, The University of Texas at Austin. Hook'em.
-
Don't worry tiger fans, now is the time to put on your gator hats and root other teams. Let the bandwagoning begin!!!!!
-
What happened to LSU??? LOL. The answer is nothing. There were sub par all year, but tiger fans are delusional from all of that swamp water they drink. Back to mediocre-ville for the tigers.
-
Is LSU hosting a regional??? LOL. Didn't think so. Texas is a national top 8 seed, and will be hosting a regional and super regional. LSU needs to worry about getting back in the top 25. Texas/LSU this year is not a good comparison. The tiggers just do not stack up.

Two? Did the assistant leave also?

Actually homeless most intelligent people that make a disputed claim usually back it up with facts. Although rating services are opinions, just like yours and mine, why don't you go ahead and post a link that claims Bellaire had WAY more talent than Yates this past season. When YOU make the claim, it is your responsibility to back it up. Where is your proof? Go ahead and post your link. In the meantime, I think I will try and get something productive done today. Good luck homeless.

You called Wise a great coach AND RECRUITER. I responded to the 2nd part of that statement in which he is violating UIL rules. You think he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I don't think he is bad. I just don't hold him in near as high regard as you do. It's hard to root for people who circumvent the rules.
"So do you believe Yates doesn't play team ball? Do you believe Yates has so much talent that a mediocre coach can achieve what they have achieved?"
When did I say any of this? Once again you have juvenile arguments. Because I don't believe he is as great as you proclaim, does not mean I think he is mediocre or that this year's Yates team did not play team ball. This is like arguing with a child. Good night homeless.
-
Homeless, I see you didn't respond to any part of my post. Very "Wise" of you.
-
Homeless, why do you keep saying "y'all?" Are you lumping me in with what others have posted? Are we, the posters who disagree with something you say, just one entity to you? That sounds a little racist to me. You wouldn't want that to happen to you right? Someone calls Wise a derogatory name, and you say y'all like I was a part of it. Don't be that ignorant. Also, actively recruiting a kid to your school for athletic purposes IS a violation of UIL rules. There is no debate about that. Lastly, by implying that other schools recruit does not absolve Wise from any wrong doing. "Well little Johnny did it, so why can't I?" That's the argument of a 3 yr. old. Bring something better to the table than that.
-
"Wise is and has always been a top recruiter and a top coach."
One of those is a good thing, and the other is illegal. There is a moral and ethical obligation by coaches to play within the rules set forth by the UIL. Whether Coach Wise is outwardly breaking the rules by actively recruiting, or whether he is trying to circumvent the rules, either way this seems very unethical at the very least. But that's one man's opinion. Just as I thought it showed bad sportsmanship when Yates intentionally fouled the other team in the 4th Q, when they are up by a large magin, simply to try and reach 100 pts. And to say Bellaire HS had WAY more talent than the Yates club...well that's an opinion probably only you share.

More than 80 apply for Hamshire-Fannett coach
Aces_Full replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Wow didn't think I would see this name on any list in the area: Danny Malone, Fillmore Central Schools (Neb.) He was PN-G's coach for 2 years from 89-91. He had a great amount of success while in Port Neches, and from everything I've seen he's continued that in Nebraska. -
Well I can now take the Goat off of the list for who to go to for basketball advice. Apparently, you've only seen Kelvin Smith play one game this year (vs. Memorial), because the kid has been tearing it up for some time now. Put me in the camp that believes Kelvin is currently Nederland's best player. Although both he and Dionte and very good, and either one could be the best on any given night. I also believe Kelvin projects better to the next level (college). Either way I'm sure Coach English doesn't mind having both players. And Kelvin wouldn't make Memorial's varsity??? That's laughable.

Coach Roc makes the coaching hotseat list
Aces_Full replied to UNLV's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Why??? Because he was a big name coach coming to a relatively small school. Plus he had already had a ton of success here, albeit a long time ago. I thought he would be able to recruit better talent than he was able to assemble. I agree that Roc needs a little more time to see if he can get Lamar to be a consistent threat to win the conference, year in and year out. He's done a respectable job so far, especially compared to his predecessors. -
Who is the Best to come out of your school

PN-G Indians vs Austin LT Cavaliers-State Championship Game
Aces_Full replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I don't think the 99 PNG team was as good as the 89 team that made it to the quarterfinals under Danny Malone. But atleast that is a better comparison. It would be a good matchup. I think the 89 team it just about better at every position except QB. -
I will take the 91 Lincoln Bumblebees over that 91 HJ squad. They also won state and were led by some outstanding players in Kelvin McKyer, Xavier Henton, and Lee Harmason, among others.

LCM vs. Vidor for homecoming
Aces_Full replied to vidor96pirates's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I wouldn't exactly say giving up over 40 pts. is called "stopping" them. LCM still has a ways to go. -
Lamar State-Port Arthur tabs Cross as hoops coach
Aces_Full replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Did he bring in an assistant coach too? Even if he didn't it's an upgrade over the last one. :-X -
Here's an opinion. Nobody cares about DV or his team. They are a private school for God's sake. Woo Hoo. Like I said in a previous thread, good luck winnings TAPPS. And tell all 12 people in the stands hi for me. Get off your high horse, Slowbama. The only reason people even reply to your comments, are because they are so ludicrous. I know I know, I wouldn't tell you this "face to face." You're right, because you won't catch me at a private school game. I have a life.

First off, I have been in the J'covan discussion from the beginning because I was interested if he had ever made it to Texas. Why am I interested? Because I love UT basketball. It certainly had nothing to do with you, until you made a remark about him already being enrolled in summer classes at UT, which I knew to be false. Secondly, I have no idea how you have "accumulated" your basketball players at your school (and frankly don't care). But I think most of the people around here know why great athletes get scholarships to private schools. It's to help those schools win athletic championships. And I really don't have a problem with that. So why do you? So long as they compete outside the UIL. Good luck on your quest to win state in TAPPS.
-
Do I have true disdain for Dickie V??? Not at all. But he does tend to brag way too much, and take credit for things he has no business doing. That's why I called him out. I said he was enrolled at Texas during the summer without 1st hand knowledge, and he was dead wrong. Then to top it off, he comes back and says hey look at me I was right J'covan IS enrolled at Texas. When he knows dang well that IS NOT what he said in the summer. With all of that talent you're recruiting to that private school Dickie, you better make sure you win state or everyone will know who held them back.
-
No DickieV you WERE wrong. You came on here stating that J'covan was enrolled in Summer classes at UT when he most definitely was not. So you didn't know what you were talking about. He did not get cleared by the clearinghouse and enrolled until just before the Fall semester deadline. Now that we have cleared that up. Welcome J'covan to the 40 Acres, and make the area proud. I fully expect him to win the starting PG spot early in the year. He is that talented. Keep those grades up.
