Look I am sorry for the God given ability comment. Obviously it came out wrong. However, you people continue to make my point. All schools do have similar problems yet WOS is at the bottom (look it up). If your kids aren't then congratulations they made it despite their school and you should be applauded. I didn't say it had nothing to do with socioeconomic issues I said "little". Not near as much as the district likes to lean on that topic. To me generalizing by race or socioeconomic status is bigoted and I won't participate in that. I promise I will not make another post on the topic. It has been over done for a football message board. There is no convincing some people even in the face of overwhelming data (once again look it up).

stang4life, Once again had you read my last post you would see I am not speaking out of ignorance. My kids were there for a number of years and I said for me it was unacceptable. And for the state of Texas. You can have your own standards. And it isn't that they aren't "at the top of the list" as you said. It is that they are nearly dead last. It has nothing to do with race. Obviously I do not believe that. I also believe it has very little to do with socioeconomic issues as you suggested. In my opinion both of these are easy copouts for a district that is not getting the job done. I would suggest those of you defending the WOS district have not researched the test scores or you would be sickened by the job the district is doing to help those children. As far as being part of the problem or part of the solution. I was not willing to allow my children to be martyrs, and receive what I deemed to be a substandard education while I fought to improve things for the next generation. If you feel that is your calling then hats off to you.

Putting it like that wouldn't have offended anyone. I won't even try to argue those points. There is allot of truth to some of those things. But why would you even feel the need to say it when the board is supposed to be about predictions and wishing the kids well.

It seems I have had a hard time defending myself because my posts continue to get deleted. If you would just delete the sections that are offensive I will not write that again. But my last two weren’t even close. For starters I am a 52 year old African American father who has graduated 3 children from LCM. All of whom have gone on to college. We began our education in WOS and I felt it was unacceptable. So please don’t name call when you know nothing about a person. I didn’t call anyone out or name call anyone. I apologize if what I said offended. However, I do know what I am talking about and the State of Texas agrees. Look up the High School rankings and see for yourself. It does get tiresome for those of us north of I-10 when it seems like your second favorite past time (after football) is bashing LCM. I have read it and heard it for years. Here are the examples just from this one thread that were allowed to stay on the board while my posts simply stating a couple of obvious truths were deleted. Double standard? Probably. Now, good luck to the boys from WOS. I have watched most of them since they were small children and whish them nothing but the best. Typical racist nonsense I would expect from a bigot of lcm. I would not dare try to convince you that there are numerous people from WO-S who are successful in life after high school, because you are an ignorant bigot. It would be hopeless. I bet you wouldn't have the guts to say something like that to Salter or any of his family members. All you people who aren't giving LCM a shot should have watched App. St. versus Mich. this week. Many times Seniors with less god given ability can beat soph with much more. I look for this to be our one edge this Friday (a ton of Seniors). Obviously our kids god given abilities (athleticly) aren't what WOS starks are. Our kids god given abilities probably are more suited to helping them be succesfull after highschool football is over. Like in life in general. But make no mistake after we win Friday night everyone will be on here saying it really wasn't that big of an upset, because we have so many seniors and WOS doesn't. LCM 21 WOS 17
