1. Arp head football coach Dale Irwin likes the decision, "I think it's a good thing, it should help someone like us a little more, because we'll be competing against teams with similar enrollment---especially during the playoff," Irwin added, "I think it will even the playing field for a lot of programs."
 2. The council unanimously passed a measure to have the Conference 1A - 4A football state championships at pre-determined sites beginning in the 2010-11 school year. The UIL has determined the site for the Conference 5A state football championships since 2006, and both games are televised. Schools involved in the games will continue to make all decisions regarding the games other than the site and time of game.
 3. Offensive player of the week Pittman for Vidor . 20 carries, 260 yards, 3 TD's. Averaged 13 yards a carry.
 4. Here's the Defensive Player J.K. Keefer, Silsbee soph. linebacker 16 tackles, 5 for loss, 1 sack, 1 pass knockdown.
 5. The results of a referendum ballot on split-conference alignment for Class 2A schools was also unveiled. The 2A schools voted 121-75 in favor of a split-conference alignment for football, which would separate 2A into Division I and Division II prior to the season, rather than after the regular season. That setup is currently used in Class 1A six-man and 11-man football. Class 2A will begin its split-conference alignment, which places 16 districts in Division I and 16 districts in Division II prior to the regular season, in time for the 2010 football season.
 6. K, i know it did in 1A but haven't heard anything for 2A. You have an article on it?
 7.
Ideally, it looks good on paper.  The big schools play the big schools, etc. Logistically, it will be a nightmare across the state.  Travel times for many 2A schools are already pretty lengthy.  Sub-varsity teams will be affected the most.  The question that will be posed is:  Are the games going to start at the same times and students get out of class earlier, or are games going to be scheduled later in the evening and get home even later.  We'll see when next year's football season rolls around how it going to work out.  Looks like we'll have plenty of mad mothers to come on this site and bash the coaches for what they do.
Did this pass in 2A?
 8. Heavy Rains Late Monday into early Tuesday! More Rain Thursday through early afternoon Friday as of right now.
 9. Lady Bears, Bobcats play for district titles Tuesday Van Wade The Orange Leader After both posted big net wins on Friday, both the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears and the Orangefield Lady Bobcats control their own destiny, as do the Bridge City Lady Cardinals. The Lady Bears (29-7, 12-1) defeated the Lumberton Lady Raiders 25-13, 25-10, 25-22 and are just one win away from sealing their second straight District 20-4A crown. The Lady Bobcats (7-2 in District 21-3A play) swept the Silsbee Lady Tigers 3-0 and will battle for the District 21-3A title on the road Tuesday at Hamshire-Fannett (7-2 in district). The winner will be the 21-3A champion. Bridge City (6-3 in district), can clinch a playoff spot with a win at Hardin-Jefferson. A BC loss and a Silsbee (5-4) win over West Orange-Stark would force a third-place playoff game. An Orangefield loss and a BC win would put the two Orange County squads in a second-place tie. The Lady Bears will host third-place Beaumont Ozen (10-3 in district) for Senior Night at the Bear Cave Tuesday. A win seals the 20-4A crown for the Lady Bears. IF LC-M falls to Ozen and Port Neches-Groves (11-2 in district) downs Beaumont Central, it would force a first-place tie between LC-M and PN-G. The Lady Bears didn’t have to break much of a sweat against Lumberton. Christine Sicktich notched 11 kills, 11 assists, three aces, three digs and a block. Shelby Apperson had seven kills, two digs and a block. Ashton LaVergne posted seven kills, a block, an assist and a dig. Elissa Tate claimed four digs, three kills, a block and an assist. Amy Laughlin had two kills, a dig and an assist. Megan Kemp had two kills and two blocks. Kellie Tilley claimed 10 assists, four aces and three digs. Shelby Sanchez had nine digs and an ace. Kayln Harkness posted 10 digs and two kills. Shelbi Tucker notched two assists and Callie Terry had two digs while Allison Walker had an ace. Aimee Scales led the Lady Bobcats in the big win over Silsbee, notching 14 kills, two blocks and an ace. Carly Rucker had four kills and two blocks. Kaitlynn Henson had four kills, three aces and a block. Rylie Granger notched 13 assists, four kills, four aces and two blocks. Ashton Wagner had five kills and Ashlyn Lopez added two kills and three assists. Kasidy Hayes set the offense up very well, posting 31 digs and getting five aces. Ashlee Broussard had 10 assists and an ace. Haley Cole notched eight digs and an ace and Kacy Juneau had five digs. In District 23-2A action the Buna Lady Cougars defeated the Deweyville Lady Pirates 23-25, 25-18, 25-7, 25-15. Chelsea Hathaway had 10 kills and two blocks for the Lady Pirates (9-20-2, 2-9). Jacie Smith notched six kills, two blocks and an ace. Marissa Powell had three blocks, two aces and an assist. Rebecca Morgan had six blocks and three kills while Kaycee Spears had a kill, a block, an assist and an ace. Amber Stanley set up the offense well with her 24 assists and three aces. 12.
like i said on another thread, it didnt matter what wos did last night in some eyes they still lost. its ashame they can never do enough...
No kidding, having 5 starters out hurt! Especially when you have no depth as it is. 1-2 of them should be back next week.
 13. Looks as though Gilmer will go D1 for sure now. Never say never, i hope all 3 go along way.
 14.
Ron burgundy you was be about as smart as ron burgundy to think WOS isnt very good this year! Our defense is legit and our offense is starting to click and get better every week! The way i see it if we get everyone healthy we will be at our peak come playoff time! I dare someone to underestimate us in the playoffs! ;)
He's a hater.

BC is a good football team and i can see them taking the 3rd spot in district to make the playoffs. from what i can remember at this time there was only ONE BIG play that BC HAS to get rid of. You cant break down on the kick off and allow a team to run to your own 10 for an easy 1 or 2 play TD drive! that was ridiculous. it was a great hard fought game both sides. keep up the good work to both teams! mainly BC though! lol oh, and sorry OF, i cant be a fan of yall this week. YALL ARE GOING DOWN! lol
BC will make the playoffs!
COOP! We agree on something for once! lol ;D
BC is much improved and is young like WO-S, i know WO-S has 19 starters back next year not sure what BC has but they have some underclassmen.
 16. Diggs is the real deal!

 20.
Last night at the PNG-Lumberton game, BH had 3 scouting coaches there. I spoke with one of them and he said that PNG is not the team they played at the beginning of the year. PNG has made such big strides and is a very well balanced team. Thats all he said to me last night
I Agree!! PN-G has improved each week.
