    At the THSCA Region V Coaches meeting Saturday, at the Merrell Center at Katy High School, Coach Hooks, the Coaching Staff, the School & Community were the recipients of the "Courage In Action Award". This award was for our unwavering display of strong character in the face of an unexpected tragedy in the death of Reggie Garrett. The entire Mustang Staff was recognized as a credit to all the coaches in the State of Texas. Also, at this meeting, Coach Hooks was also uninamously voted the recipient of the THSCA Region V Tom Landry Award. Nominees for this award must be an active football coach in good standing of the THSCA; have made a significant contribution to the athletes and the game of football in Texas; be a positive role-model for athletes and coaches; bring credit to the coaching profession by his actions and lifestyle; and have been coaching for a minimum of twenty-five years. Congrats to all!!

    WO-S Due to the impending inclement weather, there will not be any 9th or JV Boys Basketball games Friday, February 4th. The Varsity Girls game will start at 5:00pm and the Varsity Boys to follow at 6:30pm. If these games are cancelled Friday due to the weather, they will be played on Saturday, February 5th beginning at 2:00pm for the Girls Varsity game and the Boys Varsity game at 3:30pm.

    Due to weather predictions for Friday, the Lamar High School Tennis Invitational has been cancelled.  It has been rescheduled for Friday, March 25th.

    Girls soccer players Chloe Chiasson and Natalie Hager signed to play at St. Edwards University and Houston Baptist University, respectively. Chiasson was The Beaumont Enterprise Super Gold MVP last season after scoring more than 50 goals. Read more: [Hidden Content]

    PN-G Signees Three former Indian football players signed, including defensive end Taylor Thompson at West Texas A&M University, linebacker D.J. Schexnider at Trinity Valley Community College and offensive lineman Greg Lunceford at Kilgore Community College. All three were first-team All-District 20-4A selections in 2010.
