Jake Fuljenz of Kelly H.S. signs with Lamar Golf November 9,2006 BEAUMONT – Jake Fuljenz, who helped Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School win the 2006 TAPPS Class 6A state championship, has signed a national letter-of-intent to continue his education and play men’s golf at Lamar University, announced first-year coach Brian White. “I’m excited about signing someone of Jake’s caliber to play here at Lamar,†White said. “I was involved with Jake’s development as a golfer at an early age, so it’s especially gratifying for me to see him move on to the next level. I hope to continue with his development and make him the best player he can be.†Fuljenz has helped Kelly win district championships in 2005 and 2006. He won the district championship in 2005, which was played at The Palms Golf Club on Pleasure Island. As a junior, he won the Crosby Invitational at Newport CC and won the St. Louis Catholic HS Invitational, which was played at Lake Charles CC and Grey Plantation, shooting a final round 66. He was named to the Southeast Texas Super Gold team in 2006. Fuljenz was the STPGA regional champion for the 14-15 year old age group in 2004 and posted a second place finish at the 2006 Southeast Texas Invitational.

  19. Big Timers Baseball won the Louisiana Fall State Championship this past weekend in Baton Rouge. Big Timers went 5-0 in the tournament winning the Championship game 5-4 against the Bayou Bucs from Lake Charles. Big Timers record for the fall is 8-1. BC- Christina Jaques- 34 pts, 4 assists, 4 rebounds; Jenna Angelle- 4 pts, 6 rebounds. Game 2: BC- 40 (6, 10, 11, 13) Lee- 57 (12,14, 13, 17). BC- Christina Jaques- 10 pts, 3 blocks; Lauren Angelle- 10 pts, 3 rebounds; Jenna Angelle- 10 pts, 8 rebounds. Next game for BC is back at the Baytown tournament on Saturday at 9:30am vs the loser of Texas City and Dayton.
