  11. Carthage 4 Woodville 3 Woodville lead 3-0 in the 6th. Riley had a no hitter thru 5 Innings. Pretty dang impressive for the Eagles.

  15. Newton will face the Winner of Franklin/Grapeland who play this weekend.
  16. The 87 Hunting Club in Newton County will hold a fishing tournament May 5-7. The tournament, which will cost $25 to enter, will pay $250 for biggest catfish, $175 for biggest rough fish (gar, etc.) and $50 for the biggest crappie. “People can fish anywhere they want as long as they weigh in fish before the final weigh in time which is noon on Sunday,†said tournament organizer Charlie James. The club will also be selling crawfish plates at the event to help raise funds for the club. “We’re trying to do more tournaments and events to raise funds for managing our club and reach out to the people in Southeast Texas who love to hunt and fish,†James said.
