WO-S places high in state powerlifting Gabriel Pruett The Orange Leader ABILENE — The West Orange-Stark Mustangs sent two lifters to the state meet recently and both came away as medalists. Coach Cornel Thompson reported Eric Arnold went into the meet placed sixth in tehe 242-class and left fifth. Arnold finished with 1,525 pounds in three lifts. Robert Jiles, 181-class, went into the meet in 12th place and finished the season placed seventh. Jiles finished with 1,275 pounds in three lifts. “Those two guys grew up as young men,†Thompson said. “They both competed as I expected them to and are in the Top 10 strongest lifters in their class in the state. It is quite an honor to go to the state meet. I was real proud of both Robert and Eric. They represented West Orange-Stark in a big way.â€
