From Dave Campbell Port Neches-Groves, on the other hand, has found its replacement for Matt Burnett -- Odessa Permian OC Brandon Faircloth, who has been a big reason why the Mojo has once again become one of the most feared teams in 5A football. Faircloth has made appearances at some of the best programs in Texas: He played at Brownwood and served on staff at Austin Westlake and Highland Park. Adding PN-G to his resume only enriches that lineage.

Central Jaguars Named Army Strong Team of the Year by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Beaumont, Texas - February 10, 2009 – Dave Campbell’s Texas Football is proud to announce that the Central Jaguars of Beaumont have been named the Army Strong Team of the Year for the 4A Division. The Jaguars were chosen for this honor because of their teamwork, dedication, discipline, personal courage and integrity throughout the 2008 football season, values shared by U.S. Army Soldiers. “The Jaguars posted a 9-4 record—a five-game improvement over the 2007 season—and made a trip to the regional finals despite dealing with the severe after-effects of Hurricane Ike,†said Adam Hochfelder, general manager of Dave Campbell's Texas Football. “The four-round run was the deepest playoff trip in school history.†The award will be presented to the team at a time to be determined later this year by a representative of the U.S. Army and a representative of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. “The U.S. Army is recognizing the student-athletes at Central High School for demonstrating qualities similar to those exhibited by an Army Soldier, who is mentally, emotionally and physically strong,†said Captain Eric Mendoza. “We expect to see some of these young individuals competing at the college level, or maybe even professionally in the future.†Football players and Soldiers share similar values, such as teamwork, dedication, discipline and loyalty. About U.S. Army The U.S. Army supports high school athletes through programs like Army Strong Team of the Week, Army Strong Team of the Year and the Texas Football Classic. The Army also is the proud sponsor of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, held each January in San Antonio’s Alamodome. The Bowl showcases 90 elite high school athletes, many of whom will go on to play at the collegiate and professional levels. In its ninth year, the 2009 U.S. Army All-American Bowl also featured the U.S. Army All-American Band, comprised of the best high school musicians from across the country.
