  2. there is a link on Smoaky.com - I am pretty sure there will be a link to listen from there but not positive. try to check that out. Not sure about the houston/dayton area. Thanks, I really appreciate it.... [Hidden Content] The Liberty/Dayton station should carry it.
  3. FROM WOSHIGH POSTER td, if you would run for school board you would get my vote, along with many others I would bet. Seriously, that board member needs to be ran off. He clearly has no interest in the kids. How many students have their college paid for because of athletics? Would these same students be able to afford college without athletics? I would be interested in knowing how many of the school board members actually visit the schools and see how things are going and how often...... As for the buses being cut off, I nominate the board members to sit with the athletes that wait on their ride when practice is over. What if their ride doesn't show up? Should the coaches be able to call the board members and get them to bring the kids home?
  4. Believe Fox is only doing 5A this year live. Maybe on tape delay.
  5. LC-M taking AD applications Van Wade The Orange Leader LITTLE CYPRESS — The search is on at Little Cypress-Mauriceville for a new athletic director and head football coach. The LC-M CISD is looking to replace former AD Todd Moody. The district posted the job on its school website and is taking applications through Jan. 19. The position will pay between $68,026 and $80, 596 for 226 working days. Some requirements are a minimum of five years of successful teaching and coaching experience, a valid Texas teaching certificate. A Master’s degree from an accresdited college or university is preferred. Todd Moody recently requested to be reassigned within the district and Superintendent Dr. Pauline Hargrove approved the request earlier this month. Moody was 8-28 in his four seasons at LC-M and turned in an 0-8 record in 2008 with the Bears. LC-M was outscored 337-71 for the season. Opponents averaged 399.0 yards a game on offense while the Bears averaged 189.0. The Bears finished 1-9 in 2007 with a team high picked by The Orange Leader in its pre-season rankings. The Bears were outscored 278-132 that season. The Bears’ most productive season in the Moody era came in 2006 in which they went 5-5 and almost grabbed the third-place playoff spot by finishing fourth. The Bears outscored their opposition 194-140 that season. LC-M went 4-3 in 20-4A play, posting shutout victories over Port Neches-Groves and Beaumont Ozen while also defeating Lumberton and Vidor. In Moody’s first season in 2005 during the Hurricane Rita-shortened campaign, the Bears went 2-6. Moody is the second head coach within District 20-4A to be reassigned since the end of the football season. Matt Burnett recently was reassigned at Port Neches-Groves High School after leading the Indians to a 3-6 campaign in 2008 after going 8-4 in 2007 and sharing the district championship with Dayton and Lumberton.
  6. Best I’ve ever seen’ By Nick Cioci The Baytown Sun Published December 18, 2008 They call him “Ty-REEK the Freak†and Dayton head football coach Jerry Stewart isn’t about to argue. “In my 33 years, he may be the best I’ve ever seen,†Stewart said about Sulphur Springs quarterback Tyrik Rollison after he and his Broncos coaches had already spent a couple of days trying to figure out how to stop the Wildcats. “He’s very accurate, he’s got a rifle and he’s got one wicked quick delivery,†Stewart said of the senior who is ranked No. 58 in the nation among all recruits by rivals.com. Dayton and Sulphur Springs face off Saturday at 2 p.m. in San Antonio’s Alamodome for the Class 4A Division II state championship. It’s the first-ever state championship game for both schools. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Rollison has thrown for 4,315 yards on 291-of-398 passing for 49 touchdowns while only throwing 15 interceptions and being sacked only 27 times this year. “The first year I was here, he was only a sophomore and splitting time with another guy at that position,†Wildcats third-year head coach Greg Owens said. “He won that job by the end of the year and has been able to mature a lot since then. “He has a tremendously strong arm and great pocket presence and field awareness that he just knows when to get rid of the ball. He is a tremendous leader for us.†Along with his arm, Rollison has also been able to run for 961 yards and 11 more touchdowns this year on 153 carries. Along with Rollison, running back Ryan Young has also helped the offense to their first 13-win season in school history. “He has helped us bring a balanced attack to the field,†Owens said. “He has been able to rush for over 2,000 yards this year while also having close to 800 receiving yards. He has allowed us to break him out as a fifth receiver and also use him in pass protection.†Owens feels that along with Young, the offensive line gaining a year of experience has helped Rollison become a better quarterback this year. “The offensive line last year was comprised of four sophomores and a junior and this year we now have four juniors and a senior so they have just gotten better with age,†he said. “Rollison knows he will get protection from those guys and Young so he knows he can step up in the pocket and throw the ball.â€
