Nah. They're on a big run the last few years, but they were doormats for a few years before that - used to be on our schedule as a non-district game in the early part of the 2000s.
-
No. They should focus on winning another game. After a performance in which you ended up with -58 yards rushing and less than 20 total yards (all of the positive yardage coming on two or three passes), not to mention giving up 65 points, the playoffs are a pie in the sky. Work toward being better next year by winning a game or two.

Bridge City needs some motivation.

If motivation is the problem, then 68 points should do the trick. Surely they'll have some fire about that this week. -
Just a Question about Bridge City.

Total points are 276 against and 74 for BC. HF has 160 points for (allowed 111), Orangefield has 96 (allowed 193), Jasper has 146 (allowed 110), WO-S has 169 (allowed 43), Kirbyville has 169 (allowed 140), HJ has 79 (allowed 196) and Silsbee has 165 (allowed 206). BC has allowed 70 point more than the second-softest defense (Silsbee, point-wise) and scored five fewer points than the second most impotent offense (and 22 fewer than the third most impotent). If it's true about injuries being that big of a factor, they would have to be on both sides of the ball and in greater numbers than could go unnoticed even by non-BC fans. I've heard nothing about significant injuries. -
Just a Question about Bridge City.

Absolutely not. If it's true, it might be the reason for the MARGIN of loss, but when you've lost four of your six games by a combined score of 220-23, you would have lost them even with a few extra key players. BC is just way down this year. -
If forced to choose between a GREAT offense and a GREAT defense, I'll take the great defense any day. In 2000, we knew that if we could muster 14-20 points, it was a win. This year's D is measuring up to that same standard so far.

I think they were mauled, but I don't know the score.

As a true fan of the WO-S Chain Gang, the Raider D's stats are impressive! -
Top Defenses Statewide through Week 7 (updated)

Considering that the HF TD was a phantom TD (he fumbled at the 2 and it rolled out of the end zone - obviously on highlights), I have to like our D in the second half. It's only actually given up one score after halftime. -
If they can score on you, they should. Stop them.

Poopoo's poopoo is causing poopoo, and will get him in deep poopoo if kville continues to play like poopoo. Poop (fart).

We also kneeled the ball out inside the five at the end of the game. No, we'll never have a situation where we need a last-second deep ball when we're up 32, but we might need one when we're down 6 or 7. Practice is practice. The HJ DBs seemed well coached if nothing else, so working on something (deep passing) that has been a weakness this year doesn't bother me a bit. In all honesty, I hope that if we are ever out-matched as badly as HJ fans think they were last night, that the better team runs it and throws it down our throats until we can damn well stop them. If I'm playing anyone at anything and I'm getting whooped, the thing that will piss me off most is when they start running the ball up the middle on every play. If they called a TO and threw at the end zone, more power to em. I certainly wouldn't compound the embarrassment of the score with the embarrassment that will be caused by crying about it afterward. Dry it up and get better.
-
So you must be a coach. That explains all of this. I'm not defending anything. I'm saying that there's no crying in football. What I saw last night was an injustice to those boys perpetrated by a head coach who came in trying to not lose by too, too much. Don't give me this crap about us knowing that you were outmatched. Look at Orangefield last night. Everyone expected them to lose as badly as HJ. Heck, look what HF did to Silsbee.
-
Personally, I'd much rather someone not show mercy on me if we were playing FOOTBALL. Don't like it? Don't suck! Classless is a coach reacting with a profanity-laced tirade at opposing coaches where players, fans and kids can overhear it.

Bayou Bowl VIII Predictions! OF at BC

Orangefield wins big. -
That's all they wanted to do from the get-go. I felt bad for the players. Don't play to not lose by too much. How much worse could it be? Open it up and throw! Their only positive yards were on two long passes. Besides - I don't think a coach should be upset about another team "running up the score." With all due respect to the wonderful and friendly HF fans on this site: Coach, if you don't want the team to run up the score, then stop them.
-
Bridge City is giving up 50 points per game in district and 46 per game on the season. Stunning.
-
Look how many people carried the ball. In the end, a D-lineman was carrying the ball downfield to the three before we knelt out the clock. Personally, I'd prefer that someone doesn't take it easy on me. Playing "soft" to keep from scoring is insulting.
-
I had a feeling OF would pull out an upset. Almost! Great job, Cats! Kville is hurting.
-
It's hard to boast after a game like that, and HJ folks are so nice. This one was not as close as the score. Total yardage ended up as 487 for WO-S and 15 for HJ (71 passing, -56 rushing). I would have to guess the Mustangs had 10-12 sacks. Go, Stangs! Good luck, Hawks!

Hamshire-Fannett faces tough defensive task against Silsbee
WOS92 replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Silsbee should win fairly easily, but it will be respectable. Unless HF can open the passing game up, they won't have enough to keep up. Their D is certainly solid enough, but not enough to stop a well-tuned and balanced offense with game-breaking players. -
LOL!!!!!!!!! La semana pasada era la muerte de kirbyville.

What would happen if someone from Nederland or Vidor made a remark about "the more African-American part of Beaumont?" There would be 50 "racist" cries and probably a banning.

If it works out like this year, then great
