  1. We usually have Bay City's number, but this year might be another story. Holler for us from home!
  2. When was Lumberton last in the playoffs?
  3. That is so cute. Bless y'alls' hearts. You've defeated two winless teams. Congratulations. Lumberton reminds me of the sadly weird kid at school. He wasn't "special," but weird enough that, when he bowed up and tried to steal your girlfriend, you almost rooted for him and thought, "Good for you, kiddo. Almost hilariously out of your league, but good for you." Then you grabbed your girl's hand and went on about your business, and neither of you even remembered Waldo shoving a flower under her nose.
  4. Kendall Cleveland was a senior in the 93-94 season.
  5. Long, long way from that happening. Beat a few top 20 teams.
  6. Probably Jasper. I think they'll come in second or third.
  7. I doubt they will win the district, but they have a better shot this year than they have in the last decade or so. He didn't say they wouldn't make the playoffs. He said they wouldn't win the district - and that hanging with us on a wet field (etc. etc.) is a long way from winning enough games to make the playoffs. Both teams are young overall, but the impact skill players for LC were primarily seniors (only one player with offensive yardage this year is not a senior, and he has 7 yards on 5 carries). LC's roster may not be senior-heavy, but those in leadership roles are primarily returning starters. Meanwhile, 64 percent of WO-S's offensive yardage and 80 percent of our TDs this year have come from underclassmen. The Bears were obviously much improved, but came out dead on offense in the second half, gaining only 21 yards after halftime. The vast majority of their yards (132) came on the first two drives of the game. It was a good game, but nothing that has prognosticators scrambling to revise predictions. I expect the Bears to make some noise in district and contend for a playoff spot.
  8. It's Kashmere. They lost to a peppermint candy wrapper last week.
  9. Well, WO-S had about 60 yard passing in the first half. Short out passes seemed to be something the broncs couldn't stop, but hopefully that's fixed by now. We're rooting for y'all to win 22-4A. It has to be you or LC. Win it.
  10. Are you saying we'll upset Bay City 14-13? I mean, Bay City has a few 4A state titles in the last decade, and seem to be on the upswing. If we beat Bay City, it will be an upset. If they beat us, it will be expected. Still, we have had their number since... well, forever, I guess.
  11. Yikes, Memorial! We felt lousy last night, but we were playing a division UP!
  12. Do you mean T.W.O.?
  13. It depends on whether we're able to get the offense clicking. The D is doing its job, but it seems like as soon as we figure out what works, we try something new on offense.
  14. I hate people who slame their teams like traders.
  15. ...And from the skies, there was a loud "Hosannah!"
  16. LCM is no joke this year. The bad news for them is that this is THE YEAR if it's going to happen. Only one player who has gained yardage so far this year is not a senior - and he's averaging 1.4 ypc. I would say they have a shot at the title, but will need to pick things up BIGTIME. WO-S has struggled at times this year, but we're fortunate to once again have that one player (Hypolite) who will put the team on his shoulders when it counts and say, "We will NOT lose this game."
  17. What's with the name? Do they dress like hospital workers, or are they just really bad former players?
  18. Got about 2.5 inches in the two hours before the game in LC.
  19. Whoa, now. It's 22-2.
