Did I make a prediction? I didn't think I did. In fact, I said that Kirbyville had a shot. This has less to do with our teams and more to do with the fact that your mouth routinely writes checks that your team can't cash.

Dude, we were loaded last year and you didn't see this goofy stuff, did you? We've won 44 of our last 50 regular season games and 20 straight district games, but we still don't sound like you do, barking and sticking your chest out. We're not AS loaded as last year, but we aren't hurting, either. When you say I won't want to turn my computer on, you're assuming I'm going to go into hiding like you did after the thrashing y'all took last year. I just think folks from Kirbyville - especially those close to the team - are probably a little embarrassed by you. That's all.

The PN-G state game was a HUGE crowd for a HS game, no doubt... but not even close to a sellout.

I thought you were going to let the Cats do the talking. I do plan to keep living, so thanks for the encouraging words. You say you keep getting better "every year," but in truth, Kville went 10-3 in 2004, then went 8-4 in both 2005 and 2006. So, really, they got better in 2004, then worse in 2005 and sorta leveled out since then. Kirbyville certainly has a shot at the district crown, but so do WO-S and Silsbee (and everyone else, for that matter). People just rag on you because you came on here last year talking this EXACT SAME NOISE and limped away from Dan Hooks Stadium with your tail between your legs and a 46-16 whooping tattooed on your rear. The fact that Dave Campbell picked y'all to win does not mean that much to me, as he certainly didn't pick us to win the district last time we went to the state game, and just before the consolidation of schools in Port Arthur, in the early 2000s, he said that PA Lincoln had "won seven straight district titles." At the time, they hadn't won one in decades. I'm glad your boys got a confidence boost by the rankings. Just imagine what it will do for the boys at WO-S and Silsbee. They each spanked y'all last year WITHOUT any disrespect to motivate them. Imagine seeing them actually hungry.

Personally, I don't know. I just thought the coach tried to make Hooks look bad. I think I'd say it this way: I don't know who is to blame. I do know that you can't play here anymore. Maybe they deserve another shot, but if it were to happen again, regardless of security, warnings, or guard dogs hanging from the bathroom ceiling, you're done.

Regardless, Hooks was in the right. Things in his facility were not taken care of like they require - regardless of the finger pointing. If things can't be handled properly, they can't take place on school property.

Yeah, if you are using the field, you're responsible for the trash, the crowds and any damages that occur. "We had security." Uh, well, not very good security, apparently. I like that he's offended about Hooks "pretty much hanging up." If someone used my house for a function over a weekend and I came back to find it trashed, I'd call them and say, "Don't ever come over to my &$%& house again." Then I'd hang up. It's like he was expecting some sort of discussion.

Exactly. I can think of several of our players with enough highlights last year to fill such a reel. I know Johnson might end up special, but I think last year was sort of a letdown for many of those who expected to see a man among boys. He was very good, but not a "man among boys."

Moody is doing very well with the kids, but from all reports, the parents and administration are wearing on him.

Lots of raw talent and ability. There were those who said his season in 06 was disappointing, but I just think he's still a work in progress that will eventually find his groove and be "the man." Good luck to him. He'll be teammates with a few of our boys at UT. Hopefully he'll get a good rush on so that our guys can take a few to the house.

He's not able to use his talents fully in his current place of employment, IMO. I think Moody is doing a good job at LC-M. I think he'll end up being a great coach somewhere - but not there. The politics will drive him out. When he finds somewhere that will support him and his decisions - and where the parents and administration understand what it takes to have a winning program - he'll shine.

Silsbee and WO-S come in about neck-and-neck for the title this year, IMO. We both lost some of our biggest names, but return some big talent and bring up some exciting young guys. Kirbyville? Maybe, but first they've got to act like they've been there - or just shut up and let your team's play do the talking. You don't see anyone on here saying WO-S will destroy Kirbyville. We just refer to last year's big talk and the unprecedented letdown that followed (the game). No one will overlook Silsbee, at least not WO-S.

Really? Was he playing last year when DPG ran for almost 200 on them? The Silsbee game was an upset? We were favorites to win the game and the district. We own Silsbee in the series. How was it an upset? You're silly.

Weird. I've never heard it from that perspective. It bounced on the field, the crew just got it wrong. It wasn't edited for TV to look like it bounced. It was just a bad call. No difference - just the margin of victory. Kvilleballa, you're a funny dude.

Right, card. I said rarely had someone put up MORE THAN 30-some-odd points. I'd call 35 "30-some-odd points." And, actually, they only put up 28. One of those TDs bounced

To answer the question on the previous page, the nearest team who has a winning record over WO-S (who has played more than one game) is LaMarque, who is 3-1. I respect the hell out of LaMarque for the beatings they dealt us.
