First of all, I'm not going to apologize for anything, nor retract anything I said. Even suggesting that someone should apologize for posting his or her opinion is ridiculous. For that, you can buzz off. Second, maybe you should learn to recognize sarcasm - which is what the "Why try" comment was. My point was that if he is from Lumberton and saying that no one is anyone unless they are THE champion, then why try to even suit up if your team is not in the running? It was sarcasm (the "why try" part, not the "no title for 10 years"). YOU misread it. I think you owe me an apology.

WO-S: Depauldrick Garrett will be one of the best offensive players in the area. This kid could turn out to be the best RB WO-S has ever had. Corey Bell is a newcomer on varsity at strong safety, but he's a big, athletic kid who can hit and make plays. These are two who I'm really looking forward to watching. Other names who will be new to varsity are Ortavious Hypolite (sp?), likely at QB (great athlete) and Chase Adams, a bigtime playmaker at WR.

Kirbyville will win this week. Good luck Cats.

LC-M became better when a bunch of kids quit. I hate to say this, but that's a GOOD purging of the players that are holding you back. WO-S has only 24 or 25 players, but they ALL have HEART and DESIRE and believe in the program. If Vidor is going to turn around, you're going to have to piss some parents off and start figuring out who really wants and deserves to be there, both on a talent and heart level.

I don't think we were overconfident in the Wimberley game, because besides a few plays, we played well. We weren't flat or unfocused. We just couldn't hang with them. Now, we hung with them better than just about anybody, but they were just that much better than everyone else.

I heard a lot before the season started, but little since the first game or two. Maybe it's hard for him to stand out when the Ned defense has struggled so much.

I beg to differ EDBLU. I think many people in this area are really beginning to look at Bevil as a bigtime playmaker. Certainly he has the best receivers in the area, but that does little to account for a 21 to 4 ratio of TDs to INTs.

With all due respect, I'd say one win and done at best.

Both BH and Central are 4A schools. The numbers there are much more comparable. Yeah, Beaumont is a bigger city, but they have three high schools competing in the UIL, plus schools like Kelly, Cathedral Christian, etc.

Wow! Strong language, but the facts are the facts. Look at the scores and records. I'll write that down for next year. I'll write "Lumberton Raiders make playoffs." I'm putting it right between "Tooth Fairy will be captured" and "Bigfoot wins Sara Lee Best Brownie Competition."

Lumberton finished 1-7 in district. How could they POSSIBLY be the best team sitting at home? They finished tied for last in district. That means that there were AT LEAST three better sit-at-home teams in that DISTRICT. The only district team that Lumberton beat was Vidor. So I'd say that not only were you not only the NOT best team left home, but not even as good as PN-G, Ozen, LC-M and probably Vidor, all of whom were also left out. I don't necessarily think these teams are playoff-worthy teams, but more worthy than Lumberton: LC-M PN-G Vidor Ozen Bridge City You guys are fifth at best. Silsbee would crush the raiders. Lumberton was improved this year, but still one of the weaker teams in the area.

I don't think BC was a playoff team this year. No offense, I just think they were to their usual level. LC was certainly improved, but not a playoff team.

I'd have to say that I didn't PERSONALLY see any teams who were left out of the playoffs who should be there. Yes, LC-M made a run at the playoffs, but they ended up at 5-5 (as did Nederland). I'd have a hard time arguing for a .500 team to make the playoffs. I think Dayton and Central were the only 22-4A teams who have a legitimate shot at any more than one win. In our district, I think things worked out about right. I didn't see any "playoff caliber" teams who are on the outside looking in. While my heart was pulling for Orangefield to make the playoffs, I don't think they are quite there yet.

The games on the field - over the course of a season - determine which teams are the BETTER TEAMS. YES, WO-S and Dayton are BETTER TEAMS than Lumberton, Ozen, etc. You didn't say anything about heart or pride in your original post. You said playoffs, records, etc. don't matter. You said winning streaks don't matter. Nobody here said the losing teams had less heart. Orangefield had more heart than just about any team we played this year, and they only won a handful of games. However, WO-S was BETTER than they were as a football team. You're changing your argument because you can no longer argue the original one. Can we create an "I'm OK, You're OK... regardless of record" forum for thescoop? Because THIS is a FOOTBALL forum, where points, records, wins, losses, streaks, championships and such COUNT!

Trooper, if you had any idea how ashamed the folks back home in BC sound in their messages, you'd probably be a little less pseudo-smug. Your team lost to the better team. You're making up all kinds of over-the-top allegations to belittle that team. Why can the other fans from BC handle this with class? Besides the fact that they know your claims have already been shot down, they probably have some dignity. I guess every team has its nutcase. It's funny that you refuse to acknowledge that you were so far off on Thomas and White. Yeah, you stirred the pot, but in the end you look like a sad sport and someone desperate to smear the team that your team hasn't been able to beat. Stop making the team and fans look bad. You're doing them more harm than any loss possibly could.

As we've already clarified repeatedly, Earl is originally from WO-S and only attended LC-M for ONE YEAR.

Maybe he'd like one of those leagues where they don't keep score and everyone wins.

Earl Thomas attended WO-S up until his freshman year, when he went to LC-M. He moved back the next year. Depauldrick Garrett, Andre Bevil, Jacoby Franks, Kendrick Leblanc, Deon Beasley... all "home grown." My mother is a second grade teacher in WOCCISD and has taught half of them personally. Ladarius White was a transfer from LC-M. Their starting RB last year, Jacorey Walker, was a starter for WO-S who transferred to the bears. I guess that doesn't count, huh? Also, what about the students we lose, like like Brandon Williams from Central? So it's not coaching? Funny. Paratrooper, I can honestly call you a jealous idiot without feeling like I'm calling names. It's that obvious. You're talking out of your most predominant body part... the one that defines you.

It's hard to judge games with common opponents, but if you can't score on HF, who WO-S put 56 on, it will be hard to put 20 on the Mustangs.

Then which school is it? It matters because I don't believe you. I think you're probably from Lumberton. You have fewer than 20 posts and one of them is probably the most idiotic thing I've read on a board in a long time. It's time to establish some credibility. What school do you follow?
