  1. *cough* *cough* sure did *cough* talk a lot *cough* coming into it *cough*
  2. Of course you knew it was me. I explained that when you asked me for my number. I was surprised that you kept following me when I explained that I was very much a dude. Ah well... to each his own!
  3. *cough* Scoreboard *cough* By the way - the word you are looking for is "downtrodden," not "downtrodded." I guess things aren't quite stable in the Language Arts classrooms in your area of the state just yet.
  4. That IS me! I'm dressed in my Halloween costume... AS JODY!
  5. I believe the Tooth Fairy and Easter Bunny are selling them directly.
  6. I hate to say this, but the team in the third spot - regardless who it is - will not be a playoff-caliber team. It will most likely be Nederland in that familiar third spot yet again.
  7. But things appear to have gone terribly wrong, folks. The good doctor's plan fell short since the great Huffman experiment of 04. Last year, WO-S dominated Huffman, then did the same to BH and Dayton this year. Wimberley has protested being known as a "west of the Trinity" team, citing the fact that they are a good bit more than 200 MILES west of said river. A quote from the doctor's brother, who lives in Wimberley, said, "This comment from the 'west of the Trinity' contingent implies that every team in Texas west of the Trinity River should be aligned with the likes of Barber's Hill. Considering the fact that the Trinity River is one of the Easternmost longitudes in the state, this comment clearly illustrates the effect that inbreeding has had on this section of the state. My brother's work is still suffering from this problem. In response to the Giddings comment, one must note that the evil West Orange-Stark Mustangs crushed this team last year with the same vaunted quarterback and coach at the helm."
  8. My Mustangs still have two games to worry about before we start thinking about this matchup, but, as a fan, I will say this: on any given Friday, anyone can beat anyone. However... Splendora has lost to two non-playoff teams from our district and a 4-3 Woodville team. They are 4-4 overall. This does not bode well. They have averaged nearly 40 points per game in district (against 1-7 Cleveland, 2-6 Tarkington and 2-6 Liberty... wow). However, they put up 7 against HF, who WO-S beat 54-0. Coldspring lost by 38 to Madisonville. I don't care who you're playing - if you lose by that margin, you're no juggernaut. Liberty, our likely first round opponent, is 2-6 overall and likely headed for the playoffs. That speaks to the weakness of this district and the watered-down playoff system.
  9. Dugat is the best overall, but DPG is the best Jr. Mosely is excellent, but not at the same level as Dugat.
  10. In most years, this game would be interesting. This year, Dayton will run all over the Dogs. I'll take Dayton by 21.
  11. Well, Dayton will take the district crown, but the Mustangs of WO-S will take the overall GT trophy. We beat Dayton by the tune of 26-9 (and BH - even though it was a scrimmage - by a lot more). Take heart, though. Word is that a scientist (Dr. E.B. Scroodmeysistur) is trying to create a team west of the Trinity who can compete with those mighty Mustangs. He's piping in West Orange water and trying to force families to create family trees that actually branch out. In his quest to bring the "west of the Trinity" to dominance, he is also re-routing the course of the river to just west of Mont Belvieu, making the BH Eagles an "east of the Trinity" team. Reply all you want. All I can say is this: SCOREBOARD.
  12. Looks like we might see you Liberty folks in Round 1. Fun!
  13. Last year, Moye looked awful in the Jasper/WO-S game.
  14. Yeah, we're undefeated in 4A the last two years (6-0). How we're playing now? We just had ONE close game, but our three previous games we outscored our opponents 162-16. So that puts us at 182-29 in point totals for district. We're stinkin' it up. I love all of that coming from a Lumberton fan. Don't you have to MAKE the playoffs ONCE before you can assess a team's playoff chances? Or maybe see that team in action?
  15. Rhodes can run fairly well, but he's the worst passer I've ever seen on varsity - ever. Every pass - even a five-yarder - is a rainbow.
  16. I think we'll win, but, like most other WO-S posters, I think it will be closer than others expect. WO-S/Jasper is an underrated "throw out the records" rivalry.
  17. I'm thinking Vidor. Brain fart. Sorry.
  18. Sound assessment, and that's not just homer talk. Lumberton did beat Nederland, but they lost to PN-G, who lost to Nederland - so you can't assume that the Raiders should be ahead of Big Ned.
  19. Dayton - overall - is better than Central. Nederland had better wet the field bigtime that week.
  20. Dayton is a very good team that should win a few playoff games and the district title. They're also very lucky that WO-S is no longer prowling around that district.
  21. There is no less depth this year than any other recent year.
  22. Isn't that what a "prediction" thread is, though? Shouldn't we add a disclaimer to "keep it close?" If people think it's gonna be a blowout - or an upset or a squeaker - then fine!
  23. Silsbee played WO-S very tough all night. Commenting on the stats, let's not forget that HF actually outgained Silsbee in the game the previous week. Where is the respect for HF after that game?
  24. Let's not count out HF! After what they did to Silsbee, I would think they would be getting some RESPECT!
  25. How about making a differing prediction instead of just criticizing others? WO-S 35 Jasper 20
