  1. I will be rooting for the Pirates, but I'm not putting much stock yet into a win over a team that was beaten by Smiley - one of the WORST schools in the state on a yearly basis. Smiley is a guaranteed win for most teams. If Jones lost to them, they must be among the state's worst teams. Having said that, I wish well for Vidor. It would be nice to see them in the postseason. Go Orange County!
  2. I'm just going to go out on a limb and say those two guys could NOT make up a great trio... at least, not alone.
  3. Is that mathematically possible with an eight-team district? We were 8-2 in a nine-team district and missed the playoffs.
  4. WHOA whoa whoa... Did you say Jones lost TO SMILEY? Team's DON'T lose to Smiley. It's like the Globetrotters, except the opposite. They just don't win. Man, there are some crappy teams in the Houston area.
  5. Look at those stands. I made a comment at the game about this. Even in their state title years, Bay City has NEVER brought a big crowd. As far as the game being tight, I attribute it to a few things. First off, these two teams circle this game every year. It has developed into quite a rivalry. Second, Bevil's injury did affect his performance greatly. Third, our guys looked very flat - as did the crowd - for most of the game. It looked just like the game against them last year. We were undefeated, they were winless. We won a one-point game against them last year and ended up in the semis, so I'm not too concerned.
  6. I DO believe - just not the same things you guys do.
  7. Still don't believe, but congrats!
  8. ...everyone but us I agree
  9. Excellent - confirmation from a person with one post and a screen name that is probably short for pseudonym.
  10. Snooooooooooooozer! BC easy.
  11. WO-S 2000 defense... When we played Friendswood in the quarterfinals, former A&M standout Jaxson Appell was their superstar RB. On his first carry, he picked up 12, got popped and fumbled. He was quoted in the paper saying that after that hit, he didn't want to take another one. The Stangs rolled on to the semis and then the finals. Three members of our secondary from that year signed and ended up starting at D1 Tulsa.
  12. To be fair, my Dayton visitor's ticket was $6. It's $4 at home.
  13. If you're not in the poll already, you've got to beat some premier-name teams to get votes this early.
  14. Central, you should have been to our game this weekend, when we drove down to LC-M's 10 yard line with 30 seconds left and ran out of bounds. Instead of stopping the clock, they ran it out. We lost 20 seconds between plays and ended the half about an inch from the goal. I've been to more WO-S home games than you have, and I've seen PLENTY of bad calls against us. Come to think of it, I can't think of one that I've seen against Central at the Babe.
  15. PN-G and Ned typically do have very large crowds, but the last few times they've been to our place, it's been far from a visitor's side sellout. I was surprised.
  16. WO-S 35 Bay City 7
  17. Don't count out Dayton. They're in my Top 3: Dayton, Central, Nederland...
  18. Yes, it was a substitute whose husband was somehow employed by LC. She was not "from" WO-S. Instead of turning it in to the UIL or WO-S, it was reported to the then-super at LC-M. Instead of reporting it immediately, they sat on it for five weeks so that we would forfeit six games instead of one. Classic.
  19. Is that anything like "Boom goes the dynamite?"
  20. No - New Caney is awful. The fact that it was close doesn't really WOW me.
  21. Common sense says it's an easy BC win.
  22. Looks like the starters were in throughout the third.
  23. What's with the eye roll? Pointless...
  24. Why would they keep running him so much once the game was so out of hand? 26 carries? Why risk such a HUGE part of your offensive firepower?
