  1. Let's just remember - it WAS a ONE TD win over dreadful New Caney. They aren't one of the better teams that you're gonna see. Good luck and congrats on one of your three wins this year. Kidding... sorta...
  2. That was a ridiculous situation. My son is one and he knows that when a player runs out of bounds, you stop the clock. Then the bear players hauling butt to the locker room... just silly... but all it did was keep it 35-14 instead of an almost certain 42-14.
  3. Yikes. That will kill y'all against a better team. It's looking like Jasper will be down this year after all. A lot of Jasper posters were saying that but I had doubts.
  4. Stats were very close with Jasper outgaining BH 183 to 175.
  5. It seemed like it was run, run, run, run, then pass, pass, pass, pass tonight. We were without one of our top two wideouts (a Texas Tech commit), but we had enough success that we should have been throwing more mid-range passes.
  6. There's an unusual number of teams running the Wing T all of a sudden, including LC-M.
  7. Well, they had 12 pass attempts (and we only had 14) but only four completions and 54 yards. They were up against a reasonably stout secondary. It did seem like they only passed when they had to. Other than a few nice runs, the running game didn't really seem to ever get off the ground.
  8. That's what it looked like through the scrimmage period, as they just couldn't score. Good luck, guys.
  9. It did seem as if they were saying, "Let's just make it respectable." They would let the clock run all the way down between plays in the first quarter. Their D was doing an admirable job in the first half. I just think that sends a lousy message when they are actually playing fairly well.
  10. I'm also proud of our guys for putting this one away pretty convincingly without one of our best players in Jacoby Franks (Texas Tech commit).
  11. And all without one of our top players in Jacoby Franks (Texas Tech commit)!
  12. I think Earl might be operating in "The Matrix" by the way he moves and sees the field. I'm glad he came back to us
  13. I was as well, GS. It was like they were running the clock out in the first quarter. I see it as a sign of respect, I suppose, but that - along with the onside kick to open the second half - seemed extreme... especially with a 7-0 score.
  14. WO-S dominated in stats: Total yards WO-S: 384 LC-M: 162 Passing yards WO-S: 138 LC-M: 54 Rushing yards WO-S: 246 LC-M: 108
  15. The fact that he saw the light and jumped ship Despite the frightening injury and the goofy mistake by the officials at the end of the half, you guys put up a fight. Good luck. But "Bojo" is still silly.
  16. I know who you're talking about, and he DID have a controversial relationship with WO-S and exited the school unceremoniously (I knew him very well - was his star student for three years), but he was not involved with that scandal. His problems emerged later.
  17. In 1992, LC-M got WO-S disqualified from the playoffs so that they could get in. They discovered that one of our bench players had an "incomplete" on a report card, and somehow (the story goes) the coaches were unaware. instead of reporting it immediately (the first week) they waited for six weeks, so we would have to forfeit enough games to miss the playoffs. It was a mistake on our part, but dirty of them to sit on it long enough to benefit themselves.
  18. I think a lot of WO-S folks are rooting for you guys. Good luck!
  19. No, not the players, but the fans. There is a lot of resentment going back to the DQ in 92 from WO-S fans. No offense, but you can't blame LC-M for hating us as much as we've dominated them over the years.
  20. Ya can't blame the guy Our prayers are with your QB.
  21. Concerning the clock: The WO-S receiver caught the ball at the 10 with 30 seconds left and ran out of bounds. His forward progress was not stopped and he never went down. He ran almost all the way to the track. That was at 30 seconds. When we looked up again, the clock was at 7 seconds and running. WO-S hurried and threw a pass over the middle to the goal line with 2 seconds left. As the seconds ticked off, the bear players HAULED BUTT toward the locker room. It was sort of weak. Concerning the injury: Very scary period there. President will be in our prayers. He was hit as he was throwing the ball - it looked from our vantage point like he jumped to throw the pass and was hit as he released it. I'm glad to hear that the feeling seems to be returning. As bitter as the feelings between these teams are, you never want to see anyone hurt - especially seriously. Again, he's in our prayers.
  22. Mack Brown didn't seem to think so. What about this guy? Steve Smith (Carolina Panthers) 5-9, 185 Beasley is every bit as athletic as SS, and could easily bulk up to his weight. He was a standout at WR in the Army All-American Game, which is what made Brown say he would try him some at WR.
  23. I never did see Jody's response to this final. Did we use our starters too much again, Jody? No disrespect to bronco fans, but Jody predicted us to be slaughtered.
