1. I was pretty clear in an earlier post that either team can win this one. I just got carried away  ;D
2.
All of the jaw jacking and trash talking aside this game could turn out to be much better than most people want to admit. It appears that the first thing any of the folks trying to dis-credit BC will point to is the strength of schedule compared WOS. No doubt WOS has played a tougher schedule, tough to argue that fact. Next logical comparison is common opponent and that leads us to Kirbyville. There is no debate from anyone that WOS was in a very tough place both mentally and physically when they played Kirbyville. A young QB making his first varsity start under very difficult conditions, enough said. On the other hand it is really hard to discount the fact that BC dropped 31 points on a really impressive Kirbyville team, a fact that even the most faithful WOS fan has to acknowledge. Lol... and WO-S only gave up 28 points to Kville, so the BC 31 means SQUAT! Their defense is WEAK!!!!!!!! They dropped 31 points and lost by a good bit more than WO-S did. Remember that BC has had some AWESOME years recently, but they all end up being ruined by losing to the Gods of SETX football.... WEST ORANGE-STARK... The WOS defense is playing extremely well right now and gaining momentum every week. BC's offense is a well balanced bunch and that will pose a problem because WOS will have to respect the fact that they are not overly depending on either the run or pass. I'm sure Coach T will dial up an interesting game plan to combat both phases of the game. From a historical perspective WOS holds an incredible edge on the series, a whole bunch to none I think. But there is another side to that fact, I may be wrong and I apologize if so but I don't think the current group of BC juniors has ever lost to WOS. I'm sure there are some here who are much better at looking up results than I am and I fully expect some of the Mustang faithful to check this one out and report back! LOL! The last bunch that never lost to WOS (BC dropped to 3A during their soph year) wound up going to the state semi finals I believe, 2001 or 2002 I think but not positive.  With all that being said I am personally looking forward to a good game with no injuries and no excuses. Good luck to both the Mustangs and the Cardinals.
3.
Would ya'll please shut up with the talk of Orangefield being in the game and giving it away!  Yes they score on the opening drive mostly because of a bonehead facemask on 3rd down...and then we threw an interception and they scored again. And it must have made our boys mad because we came out and shoved 20 points down there throats in about 5 minutes! It was NEVER a close game! And they only had 160 total yards! We had almost 400! Was'nt close at all! Sorry not trying to take anything away from the OField boys because they played hard! But just had to clear that up! And BC gives up way too many points to compete with the stangs...and our defense has been very good and getting better! Stangs-35 Cards-14
I have to agree about the Cards giving up significant points to Pop Warner-level teams. It could still be a big upset for BC, but if WO-S plays an average game, it's another Mustang victory.
4.

We know you're not Kville or Friendswood. You are Bridge City, and you've never beaten us.
Really?  BC has never beaten WOS in varsity football?
Nope. Never.
5. There's no doubt that either team COULD win this game. BC has a good team. With our QB starting to settle in, I think WO-S is the better team. You guys lost to Kville by 20. We lost by 14 while being piloted by a fairly inexperienced kid in a very, very emotionally tough game.
6. Total Yards: WO-S 364, OF 163 Passing: WO-S 224, OF 0 Rushing: WO-S 140, OF 163 First Downs: WO-S 22, OF 9
7. We lost a superstar and the hub of our offense. We're trying to get the soph QB experience passing.
8. We know you're not Kville or Friendswood. You are Bridge City, and you've never beaten us.
and people said the same things about silsbee... BC won and some people didn't think it was possible. what makes this game any different?
We're not Silsbee. We're West Orange-Stark.
and we are Bridge City.
EXACTLY!
10.
to be in the game for any period of time means that the ability is there... perhaps the consistency isn't, but everything else is. seems like OF "gave up" or "gave it away" late in the game... seems like it was closer than the score shows.
It was 21-0, then 21-6, then 21-14. Final score was 41-14.
11.

It's all about the match-ups..... 12. Orangefield was only "in the game" for a brief time. WO-S pretty much dominated.
13. This is the same talk we heard before we DOMINATED FW in the 2000 playoffs, where the "legendary' Jaxon Appel said, "After that first hit, I didn't want to touch the ball."
14. I'm not that much into soccer. I prefer sports.
15. I loved Hypolite and have seen few players with that kind of heart, but the young QB WO-S will have this year has the potential to be our best ever. Tons and tons of young talent coming up!
16. WO-S has put its share of players into the NFL (including three-time Super Bowl champ Kevin Smith), not to mention in the Big XII (Currently Deion Beasley and Earl Thomas at UT, Tommy Chavis on the DL at Missouri and Jacoby Franks at WR at Texas Tech). Whoopty.
17. I disagree. These particular fans aren't riding a long-running chain of dominating seasons that have, since the 1970s, been winners. Only ONE season was a non-winning season at 5-5. We've shut down Calallen, shut down LaMarque, shut down Friendswood, shut down Jasper, shut down Bridge City, shut down Kirbyville, beat several Bay City Teams that went on to a state title, dominated (twice) the new powerhouse in Dayton. No regular foe of WO-S will tell you we're embellishing or exaggerating.
18. WO-S's sophomore QB Reggie Garrett may be the best QB we've ever had if he adopts the Mustang attitude.
19. There's only one question coming into this one: What is Normangee? Is it a school? Is Norman Gee a player? Seriously, because I've never heard of them. Normangee? Really? Hell, maybe Evadale wins on the pungency of the city's paper mill smell alone. Go Rebels. Norm, holla back.
20. Dayton, then Central, then Ned.
21. Sorry to have missed you, etbu, as was my wife. Our 3-year-old has the croup and begged (and BEGGED) daddy to stay home. I'm a Mustang through and through, but a dad first. Sounds like CS had some real studs in there, though, from the play-by-play on KOGT. That monster RB is something else. Hope to see you next week against Caldwell, my Mom's hometown team, and the town where I learned to swim, play baseball, and all kinds of other stuff. This coming week is an insane week for me.
22. You base this on what??? The way they act after they win. Obviously, you've had plenty of time to observe us from the losing side. That makes you a loser and biased. Nighty night. hmmm, good example. Not really. You'd have to find more examples of us losing to contrast it with our reactions following a win. That will take time. Good luck. If you don't like a team's attitude after they win, you should make them lose. If you don't like how much they score, you should stop them. If you don't like losing a lot of games, don't suck. If you don't like spicy food, stay away from Thai-Mexican Jalapeno-Curry Tamales. If you don't like a team making you feel silly after a loss, get much better and make them respect you. But above all, don't whine. It makes you look like an 80-year-old hag calling in to complan that her 80-pound, gay, goth grandson didn't get much time in at linebacker.
23. I'm a bleed-blue Mustang and I will be until the day I die. I grew up loving HS football as a 3-year-old at my grandparents' house watching the Caldwell Hornets (who sucked). This will be a weird game for me - a meeting of my team and my mom's team (who I watched as a tot). No doubt, I want the Mustangs to absolutely throttle them. That said, I think they're a strong option team, with some variation of the Wing-T or something. My grandparents always supported the Stangs when we played at Kyle Field (near Caldwell). My grandfather thought we (West Orange-Stark) were something special, despite working for Caldwell HS and the local Presbyterian Church's Hus School for decades. He died in 94. My grandmother died this past year. Caldwell is a very special place to me. Let's beat them by 50 and make sure we've left our mark. I'll do my celebrating on Alligator St. in Caldwell at my grandparents' old place. Folks in Caldwell, follow us once you've been beaten. I love your town. You can be mini Stangs. My grandfather, Henry Valigura, was a great man in Caldwell, and he was supportive of the Hornets. But deep down, he was a Mustang.
24. Lucky none of you had any Mustangs to contend with Best of luck bringing a trophy back in December!
25. I'm a fan of QG at WO-S, who really fought his way back in after being benched (rightfully) by the coaches. I've heard HORRIBLE things about C.Michael's attitude at WB.
