Super pumped for this game. I don’t know if we’ve ever hosted Brenham, but they have an awesome program with a great history, and their fans are some of the more pleasant I’ve ever interacted with.
Also, I’m a little worried: I have an itch at the back of my brain saying our district hasn’t been as competitive as it was last year. The other district seems more consistently solid, top to bottom. I feel good about our chances, but this isn’t going to be some easy walk to the 2nd round.

Makes sense, JR class is pretty deep over there.
Thomas and Tezeno both coming back is awesome for Nederland. Thomas is one of the most graceful runners I’ve seen. He might as well be ice skating.

Nederland gets almost all players back next year. They will a good team next year.
What about Hubert Thomas and Tezino? Thomas is crazy fast.

I very much dislike these kinds of games on Week-11 when you've already clinched a playoff spot, you already know what seed you're going to be, with the other team not having anything but pride to play for.
Hopefully a bunch of the youngsters that don't normally play gets to play a whole half at least and it's an injury-free game.
I agree - It’s almost a formality, except for PNG having something to play for in getting an outright district championship, and I guess galena park could be motivated by taking that away from us (if we lose, we share district champs with TC and get the 1-seed, unless Nederland beats TC, in which case we win outright regardless of whether we beat Galena Park). But, other than that it’s just “You have to play another game that might result in injuries, and there’s not actually that much at stake. I guess it’s a chance to take a low-pressure breather before the playoff grind, which will hopefully be long.
-
Hard to know what to discuss. Can’t see Galena Park winning, but anything can happen so we need to dial in and leave no doubt and have an injury free game across the board. I hope the receivers get a lot of reps. Way too many dropped passes, all season. This needs to be a smooth tune up for playoffs that ends with us celebrating an outright district championship and getting ready to host (probably) Brenham.

TC has a bull for a RB. He’s #22. I’ve been impressed with him since last year. PNG pretty well shut him down. But, everyone knows Ned’s defense is lacking. It either could get ugly for Ned or be a track meet. Either way I see TC winning!
He’s scary. I’m not joking when I say TC could win the region. They’ve got something going on, and they haven’t looked back at all since losing to PNG.

I can say that sometimes a wake up call can catapult a talented team like PAM. Look at PNG in 1999. Very good team loses to WOS in the last seconds of the game and brought them back into the atmosphere... and then they marched to state. Better to loose to a good team in district than in the playoffs. This could be the game that makes PAM start playing quarters 1 and 2 and not just quarters 3 and 4. PAM is a talented team. They may get to playing 4 quarters of football up to their potential. Best of Luck PAM this Indian is pulling for a great season for our neighbors.
Sometimes the best thing that can happen to a good team is to lose, as long as it’s to a good team. You get your weaknesses exposed so you can improve.

Did PNG and Nederland not send in their numbers?

Nah they’re not sitting anyone…Desoto is missing it’s best player BTW!
Diff in this game is Desoto finally has kids in the trenches who can match DV upfront & when DV can’t out athlete you they in trouble. Cause they don’t do anything special from a schematics standpoint

Figure we might as well get this started. What does Nederland have to do to beat Texas City? My gut says TC wins (and I think they’re a dark horse for the regional final), but I’m back to cheering for Nederland, so here goes.
This is an interesting matchup because the two teams are loosely similar. They both tend to rely on one or two receivers, a key RB, and a more-or-less consistent dual threat QB. Where Ned falls off is TC is more consistent in their level of play, makes fewer mistakes, and is more physical. While most of the attention has been on PNG, FBM, and even Nederland (as the surprising contender in the season), TC has quietly stacked up double-digit wins. They have a strong defense and a score-at-any-moment offense.
On the other hand, Nederland feels like the half-cooked model of Texas City. Similar, but less complete. Dangerous, but not always dangerous. Sunday will need to play mistake-free. I think we can expect Nederland to get better from MCM. So, let’s hear it.

Idiotic - I just assumed he was ready to relax. 1993-2016 is a long time.

Nederland has never had big lineman but a handful of times that I can remember. PNG seems to have the better line, while seems Nederland have the better skill position players. And ever since faircloth came around better qb play that has continued…
Nederland had good size in the trenches in the 2012-2015 era, and it was complimented with serious conditioning.

That was actually the Nederland school board reverting back to the past to force a good coach out
They forced him out? That’s ridiculous. Between Nederland and West Orange, you’d think being a good coach was cause for termination.

Those fights were ridiculous they had. And yes Ik what you mean by the transplants. But they get an A+ rating in education?? Please
Wait, were Nederland players fighting each other on the sidelines?

Let me understand something: PNG was on the go alone twice and couldn’t score? May a FG and missed a FG. How did they not score this close?
We have to clean that up for the playoffs. I think we had four trips (among others) to the red zone that combined resulted in three points. I would need to watch the film to check that. But our red zone performance was so-so tonight. Our receivers need to get more consistent on receptions. The passes are there. Bailey was scary accurate tonight. A lot of drops.

We were in as of last week I believe?
Dogs are in, but i think that changes if Dayton beats fbm and Ned loses to TC. But a Dayton loss puts ya’ll in, with the TC outcome affecting seed

Good game bulldogs. Thanks for hosting us. See you next year.

Starting to see what you're saying, PNG line moved earlier and nothing, then a score. What chapter they from? Cause they act like they reffing like...northside vs kipp
I’m telling you - terrible . There’s a ref shortage. I think it’s a statewide problem

Ref just missed a huge block in the back against Nederland right in front of the ref

Thomas is a really good runner. Showing up tonight. On contact, he kind of glides to the side instead of absorbing the hit, so he never loses his balance.

We're talking about two different things here. This play was incredibly fast and holding would be nearly impossible, especially almost a tackle
That’s how the calls have gone all night. Some have gone against PNG with equal head-shaking. These refs aren’t great. There was also a non-call on holding earlier that sprang Sunday for a first down.
Png vs brenham Friday Nov 10 7pm at the reservation!!
