  1. Well, let’s see if PNg can make a score happen when it matters
  2. What was that play calling in png’s last drive?
  3. Dayton almost can’t throw now. Png is all over the receivers.
  4. Dayton is still playing well. We keep letting them hang around. This could still come down to the last play.
  5. At this rate, I’m ok with field goals. But wish png could get some touchdowns out of these red zone visits. What is this, 3 trips within the 10 for a total of 6 points?
  6. From the film, it looks like Dayton should come in confident. I’m hoping for a png win, of course, but Dayton has several tall receivers, an at-least-better-than-normal qb, and seems to be a “complete” team. No reason they can’t win on Friday. I think it comes down to png’s defense and Dayton’s offense. I don’t know if Dayton has faced a good offense. Png offense isn’t like a Faircloth offense, but we move the ball and have found ways to score. But png’s D is showing it can play. Even against fort bend Marshall, we made plays we haven’t made in previous years. So I think if png shows up and plays good defense, they likely find enough ways to score and win in a one-score game. I don’t know if Dayton has a good D. I know they shut out Nederland, but it’s hard to say what that means this year. If Dayton has a weak D, I’m more confident in PNg. But pNg has been (1) mistake-prone on special teams and (2) reliably going to throw at least one interception a game. Dayton can capitalize on a few stolen possessions and take this one from png. As for Dayton’s O, this may be the game they show they are way better than we’ve even thought. If they can match png’s D, png won’t have the offense to keep up. This one is a true toss-up to me.
  7. To better say it, I’m pissed. No excuse. Why not have an elite qb coach for a school capable of producing elite qb talent? I’m glad the defense is good, but for a head coach that comes from a school that produced Quinn Ewers, why not have a healthy appreciation for the fact that these qbs need to be constantly tutored and corrected? Qb play from png this year has been good, but not as good as nearly all of the Faircloth years. No reason to have a drop off. But if we aren’t using elite qb teachers, we won’t have elite qbs.
  8. Until I see otherwise, I assume west orange will bounce back next year.
  9. West orange has lost multiple games before, but have they lost “like” this in recent memory? Lethargic, lost, timid?
  10. Looks like this one is the battle for second place in district, assuming Dayton will lose to FBM. A huge game. Dayton looks really good.
  11. West orange never has a down year like this. I may be wrong , but we’d have to go back 30-40 years to find a west orange team losing like this. When they lost to png I thought, “ok, png might just be better than we thought and are finally playing defense.” When they lost to Silsbee I thought, “well of course - Silsbee has one of the best players in the state and is probably going to go at least five rounds this year.” Then they kept losing. And they keep losing on absolutely terrible offensive production and non-existent defense. This kind of self-destruction is unheard of for west orange. It may amount to just a down year, but that it’s happening at all is weird. A down year for west orange used to mean district champs and a second or third round exit. Now it means losing to Hampshire Fannet ? This season is a historic dip for that program
  12. Nederland players look deflated, timid. Unsure of even where to line up. No enthusiasm. I haven’t believed they were so far gone as a lot of posters are saying, since I haven’t seen them play this year and I couldn’t believe Nederland has this kind of problem. But they look like they don’t even want to be on the field.
  13. I want to see that just to prove that Vidor can succeed using that offense.
  14. I’m not having the same optimism. On the one hand, PNG looks like the nasty, rough defense we’ve all thought we’d never see again out of the Reservation. On the other hand, PAM (the only untroubled, steady, complete team we’ve played so far) made us look pretty silly. Ok, take away some points from PAM and give us a few to account for first-game, new coach jitters. It still shows us struggling against size, teamwork, and speed. I feel like we have a chance to make a massive statement. Our conditioning seems to be years ahead of a typical Faircloth team, and our tackling is much better. The offense appears more than competent. But I’ll have to see it to believe it against FBM.
  15. That’s all there has ever been. People don’t live in southeast Texas for the weather and tech startups. Those chemical plants are $$$$$
