  1. !!score: 7/43/H Png tried for about a 40 yard field goal. Snap looked a little shaky. Short.
  2. Splendora’s severely overmatched. We’ll have backups in soon
  3. !!score: 0/22/1 png gets safety on the punt 8:31 left in the 1st. PNG about to run their second offense play
  4. !!score: 0/20/1 png d lineman intercepts a 2 foot pass to run back for Td on first play of splendora’s 2nd drive
  5. PNG scoop and score. Bobbled extra point. !!score: 0/13/1
  6. !!score: 0/07/1 PnG scores on very first play from scrimmage (pass to Nunley)
  7. If he has one I’d like to hear it. I try to listen to whoever wants to give insights about their perspective and team.
  8. That might be the worst punt I’ve ever seen. Wasn’t even blocked. I think he kicked it into his blocker’s back.
  9. I heard he was on the 1975 state championship team.
  10. [Hidden Content] Relevant example from yesterday. Short version - Bills get ball back with 30 seconds left in the game. Throw three deep incompletions. Leave Texans enough time to run a play and kick the game-winning field goal. (Incompletions give the other team clock time. Calling high-variable pass plays is bad clock management).
  11. It goes both ways. We would likely not have won if we didn’t get gifted an interception, a fumble on the kickoff, and a roughing the passer play that negated an interception. We’re at best as good as Huntsville. We had some really good plays and some really good luck. But, if your conclusion from this game is we’re significantly better than Huntsville, we didn’t watch the same game. The lesson I hope we take from this game is a profound dose of humility. We just need to play the game in front of us and keep working hard. There are teams out there more than good enough to punish us for our mistakes, and they won’t make the same mistakes Huntsville made.
  12. Does anyone have film from the MLC / Montgomery game?
  13. MLC is going to win big. Montgomery embarrassed them, but rivalry games are rivalry games, and Montgomery came in with something to prove. MLC had just come off an emotional loss. They’re still dangerous and very well-coached. We haven’t seen anything from Dayton to suggest they can do on offense what Montgomery and PNG did to MLC, or contain MLC’s speed. Has anyone heard anything about the injury status for MLC? Is Dayton’s Qb still out?
  14. West Fork has been solid for a young first-year team. But, Nederland rolls and gets some good reps against the run (and gets some good offensive reps against a good-ish run defense. Even though Huntsville overpowered them, I was impressed with WF’s physicality at the point of attack).
  15. Huntsville takes this one.
  16. It was a good game, and certainly one that could have gone the other way. Both teams are doing a few things right, and both have a lot to work on. As far as readiness for the playoffs, I’d say both teams are in the exact same place: We’re good, but we‘ll need to be better to go far. And, Huntsville probably has the prettiest high school stadium I’ve ever seen.
