Not sure what there would be to talk about. There’s only so many different ways of saying “PNG wins.” The exciting games this week are BH/Crosby and Vidor/Nederland. Huge district and playoff implications for those games. I just hope PNG doesn’t overlook Santa Fe and let them squeak out a win. Part of me wonders if we didn’t overlook Crosby. It’s a game I’m sure the team wants back. A loss this week would make the next two weeks that much more crucial, and they will already be two of the biggest games of our season.

That’a not good. So they will stay 5a, but have 4a numbers? It’s going to be a rough 2 years.
-
Even if Vidor drops down, I think PNG and Nederland will still want to schedule them. The only downside is we’d be unlikely to see that kind of offense in the playoffs.
-
Vidor fans have definitely treated Nederland as a rivalry game over the years. And that’s fine, despite what I said in my post above. The more they’ve made it a big game, the more it feels like a big game. So it might as well be seen as a big game. I remember a student from LCM told me, when I was attending PNG, that they saw PNG as their rival, that they had their spirit week when they played PNG, etc. I was so surprised, given that PNG didn’t exactly get super amped to play LCM and that we had no idea it was a special game for LCM. But if LCM has started consistently playing us to close finishes the way Vidor does with Nederland, we might have noticed a little more.

Vidor, we need to talk. We know you’ve been talking to Nederland, And everyone knows that you’d really like to be Nederland’s rival. It’s true, Nederland does hate you. Nederland just doesn’t “hate” hate you. They hate you more as an “opponent,” not so much as a “rival.” Nederland has been hating us exclusively for nearly one hundred years, and I can tell you it makes us jealous to see how much attention you’ve been paying to Nederland. Don’t try to get between our hate. It’s time to move on. There are plenty of fish to hate in the sea — LC-M has been looking good lately, and Lumberton isn’t that far down the road. Maybe even Barbers Hill would be willing to hate you for a while, since Crosby hasn’t really been performing lately. You’re a really, really great team to hate. I’m sure you’ll find someone. Just stay away from Nederland. With sincere but non-committal and non-rival hate, PNG Fans

Even if BH wins, Crosby will be a wake up call to BH. I think the game will be similar to Vidor/BH in that Crosby has shown it has a good defense but struggles to move the ball. I think Crosby’s offense has made improvements, while Vidor’s seems to have taken a step back. So BH is facing a good defense and a better offense than the one they faced last week. I think we are looking at a one-score game.

This one might get close

Two end zone interceptions for Dayton. Resulting in no points and basically no yards.
-
I think 2.
-
6th turnover from Dayton to Png. 3rd interception of the night, with three fumbles before. 42-7, png ball. 4 minutes left in the 3rd.
-
42-7 PNG. 5:23 in the 3rd.
-
35-7 PnG. 3rd quarter. Dayton just fumbled to png in a kickoff. Dayton has overturned the ball five times. Dayton intercepts it on the subsequent possession. Dayton ball.
-
28-7 end of half.

Vidor? I’ll believe it when I see it

BH band is really good. I loved listening to them last week.

I don’t think BH has a good qb or good receivers. It’s also possible the play calling was conservative since they didn’t need to do much with what lee was giving them. If you’re question is meant to get at PNG’s qb (I’m just guessing, since the question has no context), the weaknesses and struggles on that end have been discussed at length, including by me, and will continue to be discussed, probably by me as well. PNG having some struggles doesn’t mean BH has a good qb or good receivers. BH has a good team, but not necessarily in every component. I’ll be happy to be proven wrong. It’s not like I’m an expert. Someone who knows more can certainly prove me wrong.

After seeing Bh last week, I think they are a balanced, complete team with a good defense and a huge runningback. Caveats: (1) I don’t know that they’ve been challenged much since week 1, which allows you to hide weaknesses and, even if the weaknesses aren’t there, can affect you mentally. Vidor can shock Bh out of their normal system just by making the game difficult, like they did against PNG. Nederland is good at that kind of disruption. We’ve all seen it before. (2) I don’t think the QB or the receivers are very good. I’m not an expert, by any stretch, but there were passes he should have made that he didn’t, and the receivers, if I remember right, only caught the easy passes and didn’t catch even all of them. Wind may have been a factor, like it was for everyone. I think BH takes it, unless they are not as strong as they have looked. All of my criticism aside, Bh dominated Lee at every level. Also, Bh has the best home side in the area, with nice fold out seats (I know the game is in Vidor, just saying the Bh stadium was a good place to visit), and the BH band sounds amazing. Good luck to both sides. Is this Vidor homecoming?

Wright’s BBQ
-
Any pressure on Lee QB and he folds. Nederland can exploit that if they have a decent D line.

Never thought I’d see the day where png has a solid defense and a struggling offense. People might point at the qb play, and there are weaknesses there, but I’d say a big difference from previous years is we don’t have a dominant sure-handed receiver like Jayce Nelson, Keynel Mczeal, Preston Riggs, Amir Jalali, Kaleb Sparks, Preston Hughes, etc. We don’t seem to have at least one guy who can climb the ladder and come up with the difficult catches. That reduces our options.

Still 28-0

Both teams look like they are ready for this to be over. It’s cold out here

Botched lee snap on 4th down. Bh ball
-
Long lee run. 2nd down on the 1. Bh holds. 3rd down. Fumble, but they rule the ball down. Forward progress had stopped. 4th down. Bh Timeout . That play was still live, if you ask me, and that poor BH player picked up the fumble and ran about 100 yards for a touchdown to have it called back.

Bh field goal blocked. Just about everyone touches the ball while it rolls around. Dead ball. Lee takes over on the lee 22
