Stump was/is the highest paid teacher in BISD.  His salary is above $90,000.  The last time there was an opening I believe they had over 50 applicants. Look for WB to be open for transfers with the new coach.  They have not let in transfers for four years and with the new classrooms, their capacity will probably be about 3000.  They could take 300 transfers. 

WB has done an outstanding job getting to the playoffs with no fieldhouse, no training room, and not much talent on defense.  Now with the injuries, I do not think they win this game.  Hope I am wrong. DP - 36 WB - 24

Depends.  If you are in a position where a 3 way tie may occur with that team, most districts use the point differential tie breaker and it would behoove you to score as many as possible.  If you are playing the cellar dweller, why risk injury to starters?  If your 2nd and third string score a bunch, oh well.  I was at a game that ended up 99 - 0, but the winning team pulled their starters at first quarter. 

I was wrong.  If WB loses and CV wins, WB is out.

Actually it was a d lineman, Caleb Bluitt.  And the receiver that caught the winning touchdown had a broken hand. If WB wins agains LP, they are in.  If they lose and NS beats CV or NS loses by less than 9, I believe WB is in. If WB beats LP, and CV beats NS, I don't think NS  makes the playoffs.  Weird year.

Never been so glad to be wrong!  The team of two years ago was the Rocky team. Beating NS at the last game at Durley. This team is definitely the overachievers team. Great job by Stump and crew!

WB's season "No Fieldhouse, No Problem, No Playoffs"

If WB does not make the playoffs, then PAM goes big school.  That may change the outlook for a playoff run.

I told everyone before the NS game that WB would have trouble making the playoffs. If Channelview's defensive line is not dominant, then it will be a shootout.  If their defensive line is a match for the WB offensive line it will be a easy win for Channelview.  In light of the short week and injuries, I give the edge to Channelview. Channelview 42 WB              35.

It did not help that they lost the starting d tackle the first game. Hopefully they make the playoffs.

The defense looked better tonight. The coaches are experimenting with lineups. Don't be surprised if some of the o lineman end up playing both ways. The WB fr team only has about 40 players. You need at least twice that for a decent program.

WB just does not have the talent. The district eliminated transfers to WB. That has taken them from 2500 to 2300.  Last years senior class started with 800 freshmen. This year less than 600 freshmen. It is not going to get any better.

Ozen gave up the playoffs during the end of the 1st and second half against Vidor.  If they had beaten Vidor, they would be in, do not see them making it now.

I do not think a school from BISD will be in the playoffs.  Ozen has a shot, but losing to VIdor hurt them badly.  WB, without a defense that can stop anyone, will lose to NS, LP, PAM and, CV.  I hope I am wrong, but I call it as I see it.

Sorry, but WB has not shown any real ability to stop the run against a good team. Linebacker play is inconsistent at best. NS wins in a rout. WB will be lucky to make the playoffs this year.

He was run out of Palestine because he was determined that the running back was going to do it Thomson's way. Team cratered. New coach came in and let the RB back on the team and ADRIAN PETERSON led them to a state championship. I give him a couple of years and then he goes the way of Clayton at Ozen.

If WB tackles well and plays with discipline on defense they should win easily. WB is a coach short as they were not allowed to replace the D line coach. If Ozen can keep the score down, they have a chance.

This will be my last post as I think the board is no longer about analyzing games, just trash talk.  Injuries, as I stated were a factor.  Both starting cornerbacks and Brock did not start, but injury reports should be left off of the board.  Good luck to WB for the future.

Bad news, Justin Brock, pre season all state OL is out for this game and maybe Tyler Lee.

I hope WB wins, but win or lose I hope for a good clean game with no injuries to either side.

JV and Freshmen?  So what!!  I think WB's JV and Freshmen lost to Ozen and Central.  They almost always do. WB will have to be as disciplined in execution as Katy to stay in this game.  Injuries on WB will hurt their chances, but this game can do nothing but help the program and the players, win or lose.
