If I read the BLUEDOVE3 offer correctly he offered to buy the Ozen supporters A (as in one)dinner if they won. As cheap as BLUEDOVE3 is I am guessing we would have had to split a taco at Taco Bell. I would much rather talk about basketball than taco's. Lamar C. will be playing their last game of the season tomorrow night. They had a decent year, see you next season Lamar. BLUEDOVE3, yes I do have a part time job and no I would not be interested in buying you a half a taco if Lamar C accidentally beats Ozen. And I am sure Mr. Vitale is a great guy but I also would not be interested in eating half a taco with him, nothing against Mr. Vitale. Lazeek, Ozen had a bad game the other night and still won. I do not know what you guys are talking about. Ozen has a better team this season than last. I will admit I know nothing about LC other than they beat Dayton. However I do know that Powell was half of Dayton's scoring threat and he did not play in the loss if I understood correctly. I am with Mr. Vitale on this one. Ozen by 10.

LCM played a great 2nd half of the season to put themselves in a position for a playoff game. Dayton is quick and hard to keep up with. Congrats to Dayton. Good luck in your next district. Oh, by the way Mr. Vitale, who did you pick in this game?

I would agree with most of that except the part about winning games they should not have. The only way a team can win a game they are not suppose to is if Vidor had less points than another team and they gave Vidor the win anyway. Most of the time a team wins on purpose. The coaches practice most of the time to win games. If you are judging a teams record by what the experts predict then Nederland would be in the playoffs right now.

I would like to see him play. I would guess the team would love to have him back. I will take another wild guess here and suggest that most of the teams that will be scheduled to play Memorial, hope he stays on the sidelines.

Nederland needs to play the whole 32 minutes. Lost too many close games after starting the district with a 4-1 record. A lot of experience coming back next season, Bulldogs should be in good shape. I hope the Nederland fans let Coach English come back for another season.

Ozen playes to win, no matter who is in the game.

Dayton played a very good game with Ozen. I will take Dayton by 4. This will be a good game either way.

Actually I did not see a lot on the JV team that impressed me that much. But we will find out next season.

Ozen takes this one. Dayton just needs a close game here to help them against the upcoming 3rd place playoff spot against LCM. Dayton just needs to do what they do best. It may be hard to do, but Dayton needs to have a game plan for LCM and bring that to Ozen to work out the kinks. If they can get some of the things to work against Ozen they can fine tune the rest for LCM. I know this sounds kind of crazy, to give up a game before it starts but, if it is not going your way Dayton, you may want to work on some of your plays for the LCM game.

I expect a playoff game this coming Friday between LCM and Dayton, at a neutral gym. Who I think will win this game? I will have to see the results of the Tuesday night games. It will be a good game either way.

Bullet, pride was never a consideration. Nederland has a young group of players with basketball skills. They are not as tall as Central nor as quick, which may be Nederlands undoing. The Bulldogs are a fundamentally sound team. At times they can be unstoppable, but I have noticed at times they do not play together as well as they should. If Central can shut down Chris Hammond, keep his point total in the low teens, Central wins big. Gulley will control the high ground for Central and should keep a lot of points from being scored by the Bulldog big guys. Nederland will have to be getting a lot of points from Torres and Pitts as well as Hammond with the rest of the team pitching in at least 15. I really do not expect a blowout here, but it may depend on what kind of attitude Nederland arrives with. If attitude and pride could be used as the same word, then forget this post, I will agree with you. For next season, I would like to see Nederland play a preseason schedule with teams that will actually help them improve, not just give them easy wins.

I have to go with BMT. on this one. Nederland is very tough at home but with the loss to Vidor on their home court and getting eliminated from the playoffs as well, they may be a little down at this time. Nederland can play with the Jags, it will just depend if Coach English can get them up to go out on a good game. I believe Central should win but would like to see Nederland pull an upset. My "New York Theory" not to get confused with other theory's on this board.

Nederland is young, they should make the playoffs next season. I believe Vidor will have most of their team back as well.

I expect Ozen to win it all.

You are right, it does not matter. But since you asked, Ozen did not take any team to overtime in the Nederland tournament.

Sorry Mr. Vitale I just thought you may have wanted to know that Ozen has never had an overtime game in this district. But your main point is well taken and underestood. Ozen has had several close calls with teams in this district over the years but only the three losses so far. You have to have 5-6 very sound fundamentaly right players to compete with Ozen. They (Ozen) do not have many weak spots. What they lack in shooting skills, they make up for with speed and rebounds. I believe this years team is actually a little better than last years. I think they will be able to make a serious run at the title again this year.

Ozen has not played an overtime game with anyone in this district. Not Vidor, Central, Dayton or anyone. Mr. Vitale you are 100% wrong. But if it makes you happy to think you are right, be happy, but you are still wrong.

Thank you Diamond-J for the heart felt apology. The only question I, well two questions are left really. First question: If Lumberton have no basketball players, according to the "Dick Theory" why did Lumberton go to a lot of trouble to hire a basketball coach? And the second question is since they did hire a basketball coach with no basketball players do you believe President Bush should include more money in his economic stimulus package for Lumberton since they are having to pay a coach for nothing? I would like to apologize to Vidor and Lumberton for all the stupid things I have said to make my point. DickVitale should know better and I expect more out of him than most. There are just some things said on this board that go, overboard. I am finished with this idiotic thread.

Coop asked us to stay on topic. You said you were no longer going to respond to my comments, I guess that was the truth also. I am trying real hard Coop. And by the way BmtS. running makes me tired, could we slow this game down a bit, Vidor only suits up 7 players and one of those is a freshman. And I might also add that Central has nothing to worry about from Vidor. Just because they (Vidor)beat LCM, Nederland, Lumberton and Dayton only means their lucky streak is about to end Friday night in Vidor where Central always playes their best.

I agree with you Dick. But all the people that read the thread we are refering to will understand that Vidor and Lumberton had the same problems except Vidor had a great coach in English. Central should crush Vidor's hope for a playoff spot Friday night just like Dayton did. You should not try to be so defensive, it makes you look weak.
