I'm not gonna weight in on who will win this district, and HD has been down a couple of years BUT, HD usually finds a way to play competative ball and with this alignment, this may be their best chance to eye the top seat!

Sorry Rebel Fan.  I was sending updates to WOS but I guess he was unable to post em.  I should have included you on my list...The final score was [b]44-43[/b], Rebels!  LONG drive to the next one, Anderson Shiro! Congrats to the Rebs on a hard fought, physical game!  We missed a lot of shots from short range but we stayed scrappy on defense and fought pretty hard on the boards.  Short rest for Thursday nights game.  (not sure why Thursday)

I like 2 teams...I too came from the Dist champ advances and everyone else is done era.  Dont like 3 because of the bye and 4 is too weak.

[/quote]I dont have a dog in this fight, but if those numbers are correct, 17-4 fouls, thats kinda unreal!  Dont know of any team on any level that is in a close game and commit only 4 in a half.  Oh well, sounds like a good game anyway.

Wish we were talking about the game and not the fans!  I was there too, I was sitting close to one of the fans that got tossed and I moved very early in the game because I knew they would get thrown out sooner or later. (they did)  As far as the Indian Hollering, I didnt hear it.  Not saying it didnt happen, I just never heard it!  If it did, thats just stupid.  Evadale has a couple of fans that get a little personal, in my experience with the refs and I've never known that to be effective.  There are things a fan can say...example, early in the game the fouls were 5-0 against the Rebels, so during a dead ball I shouted to the ref close to me " hey ref, fouls are 5 to 0, lets even it out"...and it did.  Like I said, there are many things a fan can shout and make sense and not get personal, but if you stand up and shout for everyone in the gym to hear "hey baldy, which one of these players is your son"...well...nuff said. ANYWAY, congrats to the Wildcats, yall wanted this one more than the Rebs.  I hope we get another shot at ya.  If so, I'm putting my money on Evadale because I think yall just woke em up!

In a warm up game played at EC...Lady Rebs defeat the Lady Bucs 53-40!  Great job Lady Rebels!  Everyone is back and healthy and the gals are playing some pretty good ball right now!

06, no one ever gives the refs credit, and at the 1A level they usually dont deserve much.  Thats why they are calling 1A. (In my opinion).  But it was Cat conplaining about the last Evadale game as his BS Cats lost to the Rebels.  Now, the Rebels won last night but I do believe it was closer than it should have been.  #15 for WH did a great job of staying all over #3 for the Rebs.  The thing that I really dont understand is why didnt the Rebs make #15 work a little harder?  I mean, #3 would spot up where he likes to be and that was that.  No movement, no pics, no cuts....nothing.  Maybe that was the game plan??  Ill say the Rebs better figure that out pretty dang fast cause if they think WH is the only team thats gonna man-up our #3, we'll be playing baseball when season starts!  Another hard fought game inside by #40, he's getting better every game!  Good job at the point and #11 played well off the bench when #33 was pulled for much of the game. Sure hatted to see a goofy tech, we need to shut the mouths and play basketball!  We've got the talent and if we tighen up just a little, we can make a deep run again!

Congrats to the Cats on the win!  Good showing by the Rebs!  They played a tough 2nd half without their starting guard, Bruce.  He wasn't on the court for the beginning of the 3rd qtr and came in briefly later in the 3rd only to leave the floor and head to the locker room.  Murphy did a good job being moved from his #2 position to finish the game at point.  All in all a gusty game considering.

Iola made it to the state Championship match...I think.  Not sure of the out come!  You hung in there pretty dang good Lady Rebs, loosing to a State Qualifier!

Bruni actually scored from 1 yd out with 6 seconds remaining to make it 42-12.  (kinda a classless move)
