5. Kountze has a real sod-buster in Howard!  He reminds me of Cook from HD a few years ago.  This guy can take over a game and carry a team on his back.  Having said that, HD hates to lose and if they find a way to stop Howard inside the tackles it'll be a close game. For no reason my gut says HD in a close, real close game.  Good luck to both!
6.
9 freshman starting is unbelievably unbelievable
Besides that its hard to believe! Lumberton, IMO, has one of the best coaches in the area and they are one of those teams that always seem to get better as the season progresses.  I've gotta take the Raiders in this one.  Good luck to both.
7. We went TOTALLY CRAZY at our scrimmage and actually opened and sold things out of our concessions!!  We also turned on the AC in the press-box...probably no one else will do that for a "practice".  You know we're big time!! Cheerleaders...drum line, that's small change...LOL
8. True football fans, especially 1A football in this area, know the tradition of excellence that has been coming out of both Burkeville and HD.  So I'd say most of us, myself included, expected things to turn around quickly with Harper returning to Stangville and I for one look forward to some good competition from Burkeville.  HD will never stray far from the top teams in their district, they don't and probably never will be satisfied will mediocre play and any incoming coach knows he as school and community support to be competitive, to win. We've had a good taste of that over the last several years here in Evadale and this school and community has come to expect hard nose, smash mouth, total team effort football.  Now back to the subject.  I missed the Warren scrimmage and have heard that we looked like the teams of old and the future was bright, Friday night looked a team in rebuilding mode learning a new system.  Both of which are not the case.  So, I'm clinging to Yellers take that a total lack of contact last week due to lighting had a hand in our look of "flatness".  We know you have it in you Rebs and this is what a scrimmage is for, to build on good things and expose things that need attention,  now lets ride down to Galveston Friday night and hit O'Connell SQUARE IN THE MOUTH!!!
9. Hey pic...with Burkeville dropping out, are they in jeopardy of not fielding a team for district play?
10. Great job Lady Rebs!  You were given the chance to lay down and quit but you didn't take it!!  lol Thats the way to fight your way back in it!!  See ya at the tournament this weekend. Congrats to the JV squad on their win.
11. Good luck to the Cats this year.  I'm still having a hard time getting over the fact that the Rebs wont face HD this year.  That's turned out to be a pretty good rivalry over the years with some heated battles.  Oh well, hope y'all make some noise in DI this year.
12. In a strong southern accent..."You ain't right Blue"...besides, you know I need to cool off after fighting that dang tunnel before games!!  LOL
13. It's rare but I missed this one (haven't missed many over the years and it won't happen again Rebs).  My sources at the game kept me up-to-date and it seems Evadale ran roughshod over the Warriors.  The Rebs bring tons of experience to both sides of the ball and it should be an exciting season. We'll be looking forward to Stewart and the Lions of Kountze at Rebel stadium next Saturday.
14. Evadale VS Newton @ Newton Game 1  25-22...Newton Game 2  25-18...Evadale Game 3  25-22...Newton Game 4  27-25...Evadale Game 5  15-11...Evadale The Ladies could have folded at match point for Newton in game 4 but showed tons of grit and pulled it out!!! Hollyfield stayed cool on the sideline and keep her gals cool to pull it out. These were the scores on the board...the score keeper was really having a hard time and had to be corrected several times by the official books, so, the outcome is accurate but the scores may be off a little.    ???
15. VS Newton @ Newton Game 1  25-22...Newton Game 2  25-18...Evadale Game 3  25-22...Newton Game 4  27-25...Evadale Game 5  15-11...Evadale The Ladies could have folded at match point for Newton in game 4 but showed tons of grit and pulled it out!!! Hollyfield stayed cool on the sideline and keep her gals cool to pull it out.
16. The Ladys from Evadale had a good 1st week of practice.  Good luck Lady Rebs!
17.
I am about to take me a little nap then head over to Evadale to catch the Madness!!!!
Look me up Aggie.  I'll be in the pressbox with Yeller.
18. Good luck to the Yellow Jackets!  Hope y'all have a great year...
19. Hey Colmesniel Fan, we watched FNL season 4 a few months ago on Directv (The 101).  Is that normal and will they show next season early again?  Like you and a few others, already watched season 4...
20. Like the Chronicle...this is JMO... 1. Lovelady 2. West Sabine 3. Hull-Daisetta 4. Colmesneil 5. West Hardin I feel 2 & 3 could go either way.  I just dont think the Bulldogs are ready to be a "main stay" and West Hardin has some rebuilding to do on top of a new program being started.
21. I would have to agree.  Knew Mark when he had a head-full of hair...lol...Good guy and great for the kids. Glad my kid played for him. See ya at 2-a-days!!!
