Rebs take game two in 9 innings 5-4.  Dubose pitched 8 solid innings and Franklin came in and closed out the 9th...Game 3 in 30 mins....GO BIG REB!!!!

I dont know his official ranking by the coaching staff, but Tucker is not the Rebs #4 pitcher.  He did well through 4 but got a little tired...it happens.  The Rebs did come in after that with their #5 pitcher to end the game. The bats never really got started for the Rebs and ended up with only 5 hits spread throughout the game.  Alto did a little better with 7. We'll see, if the bats get going and the pitching holds up, the Rebs will right back in it.

Congrats to the Jackets and good luck to both in the playoffs...

Game 1 was called after 6 innings.  Not sure why, guess a time limit because of double-header. Evadale had a 4 run lead most of game 2 until Big Tuck's pitch count got pretty high in the last couple innings and the hits and walks started  increasing.  He gutted it out and pitched out of it a couple times to get the win.  The Rebs missed the bat of Franklin for most of game 2 as he was ejected for an aggresive play at the plate in which there was, uhhh, a lot of contact!! Two good games and good luck to both teams in the playoffs!!!

This is WAY off the subject, but if Spurger, Zavalla, Big Sandy, Leggett, Goodrich and Chester played 6-man along with Apple Springs, that would be a nice district.  But I realize the start up cost for those schools to play football would make it an impossibility....Just Saying.  Plus those schools would have to be interested and I'm sure none are.  I've always thought Spurger could compete as they always have some good sized kids on the court.  And yes, I realize basketball and football are not close to the same sport but in smaller schools, sometimes a great player in one sport is at least respectable in another... At any rate, Good Luck Yellow Jackets!!!

Not sure why the Lions cant get something going.  They are in fact, a very good sized 2A.  Surely there are some kids walking the halls that can play some football. From what I've seen the last few years, one maybe two wins next season.  I'm not sure how much Colmesneil lost and not sure how much West Hardin brings back.  I believe those will be the only two games theyll be in.  Hope I'm wrong and the Lions compete well this year.

Congrats Pirates.  The Raiders seem to be headed in the wrong direction.  I know they're young, but they were playing much better ball earlier in the year.  JMO

Congrats  Anahuac. I dont think the Gorilla was saying that Evadale is great, Buna is great or that Deweyville is or is not good.  Like the man said, he saw both teams play this year and made an observation that was HIS opinion.  I havent seen Buna but have seen Evadale several times so cant comment on that, so again, congrats to the Panthers.
