Evadale looked pretty good on the ground and through the air. Thier deffense is quick and "salty". After the regular type scimmage, the teams went game situation for 2 quarters, the Rebels scored 3 times and Warren really never made midfield.

Hardin showed some speed in 7 on 7 but it's hard to get the big picture from that. They will no doubt be in the mix. I believe it will be EC, Hardin, Buna... This district is definitely getting more competitive.

With the 1A district growing to 8 teams this year...should be interesting. I still believe the top 3 will be Evadale, Hull and West Hardin. Evadale is basically bringing everybody back from last year, HD and WH were hit a little harder by graduation, but who knows. As we all know, anything can happen on any given night. Good luck to all. Glad to see this number of teams in the district...

34, I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with your HI take, like Chester, I believe they have some ground to make up. With leadership and heart, anything can happen. Man, that would rank up there with Lumberton making the playoffs for the first time ever if HI could make a turn-around that quick. I'm not selling the farm on that one yet, but we'll see. Hope they do get the kids out and get things headed in the right direction...good luck to all in 23-1A

Pretty much agree with you wise 1. I believe HD and WH were hit hard by graduation where I hear Evadale only lost a couple. But you never know with kids...I really don't see anyone else making a run for the top three spots. Chester is making big strides, but they had a lot of ground to make up. Attitude/Believing is everything...sooner of later these guys are going to have to n.. up and hit folks in the mouth. Vidor has always been tough, somehow they've got to put that one special year together when they take up for each other on and off the field, in the halls, in the community...24-7. TRADITION, EXPECTATION, it has to start somewhere, sometime. Maybe this year. We'll see. Bottom line, it's up to the kids AND COACHES to reach down deep and turn that thing around. Just my opinion...

This kid can flat-out play football!! Would love to have seen him go to a larger program and believe me, I'm not taking anything away from the ride he's got. It's weird, this guy, in my opinion, could have started for anyone in Lumberton's district. Anyway, good job Hussey! Show em what you're made of and good luck in with your future.
