I didn't know I had to be from Vidor to post on this thread. I gave my opinion on the subject and I'll stick by it. I'm not mad at Vidor or Mathews. Chances are I have more Black and Gold in my blood than you. Ya'll keep Mathews, fine with me!

I've watched both teams and I think it will be Buna by 21. It's just bad timing for Kountze. They are turning their football program around and should compete for several years, but Buna has really put it together this year. Buna-35 Kountze-14

As someone with limited ties to Vidor and Lumberton, I saw the Lumberton-Vidor game and a few other Vidor games over the last few years. I don't think Vidor will get to the next level with Mathews as head coach. I'm not mad at Vidor, I would love to see them turn it around and start competing. I'm sure he is a nice guy and the kids love him, but as a vasrsity head coach, its all about winning, not just keeping it close. Mathews was the right man when he came but I think its time for change in Vidor.

I saw Lumberton once this year. I don't know how they will stack up against the rest of their schedule but, they can flat-out play football!

Well, this is kind of on the thread...Back in the late 90's the Burkville Mustangs were in a 4th and long and in punt formation, the PA announcer comes on and says "don't punt that ball coach"!

As you will see from my earlier post, I was at the game too, and I agree, the refs were bad. In my opinion they were color blind though and called a poor game period. Chester is making alot of mental mistakes and got called for many of them. I also saw Chester get by with blocks in the back all night long. Yes, they also missed holds against Evadale. Just a poorly called game, but that's what you get on the 1A level. Evadale ran all over Chester and it was not because of the officiating. 47-0 ??? Both teams should be getting ready for next week and hopefully this thread will end soon.

Dang, there's alot of negative KARMA flying here. It's good to see this much "pushing and shoving" two weeks before the game. Where is this game to be played? If Hull, watch out for splinters. All said, two good teams... Evadale-21 HD-14 If anyone jumps on my grammar, I'm telling COOP! ;D

I went to game, just love football, and the Rebs looked impressive against a much improved Chester team.

Athough I agree with the meaning of your post, ya'll better show up and take care of business. I hear the Price Carlisle game was much closer than the score and penalties and bad breaks hurt the Rebs. I've said it before; "you better hoe the row in front of you!"

From what I understand, most of the six man schools out west are property rich, ie OIL. They could make the long travels and the overhead from the program probably wouldn't affect them as much as schools like Chester, Spurger and Brookland. There are plenty of schools in SETX to form a six man district, that would be something to see.

I'm not sure, but isn't Chester in Dist. with Groveton, Tenaha, West Sabine and Lovelady? If so, as much as I like and respect Chester and Coach Franklin, they are going to have a tough time getting out of district.
