Thus far, we have seen PNG's domination until the 4th quarter.  Faircloth and co. refuse to run a score up on anyone, show a lot of class.  However, things could have gotten bad for the last four teams that the Indians have faced.  IMO of the Ozen game last night, PNG was up 35-0 with around 3 minutes to play in the 3rd quarter.  Ozen could not stop the anything that the Indians were doing on offense at that point, nor could they move the ball against the Indians D.

My point is, that could have very easily been a 56-0 or 63-0 game.  Central will have their hands, arms, and legs full next week.
You're darn right.  If we don't get our butts in gear (Take notes, Jag Coaches), we could get our butts spanked as well.

Central has a good coach and will be ready. It will be a good game. Hopefully both teams will come out injury free and make a good showing in the playoffs.
  2. .....a bunch of people to eat crow.

I remember last spring when the PNG folks saw and expressed excitement over what was taking place on the reservation with coach Faircloths arrival , there were a lot of people here (most) that wanted to give all kind of reasons why we would not be much better than last years 3-7. I remember some of the Lumberton and Beaumont posters commenting on lack of talent at PNG(thats pretty funny with a running back that will rush for over 1500 yds., a qb that will throw for close to 1500 yds, a host of receivers and a defense that has been lights out). One poster from Beaumont said coaching wasn't the problem. She said "Coach Burnett doesn't go on the field and play", I agree neither does Coach Faircloth but he definitely has our kids better prepared. There was couple of Nederland posters who said Faircloth was offensive minded and that our defense would suffer. One used Nederlands D the last couple of years as an example of being able to score 50 points and still lose. Another one even claims he saw Keller (where coach Kroeker was defensive coordinator)
and that they were week, "no attacking" and pretty much just stood straight up( that might get my vote as the funniest). One poster ( a very honest, call it as he sees it unbiased poster) from Nederland said we hired an unproven coach( even though he was a very successful record breaking OC at Permian). There was one poster that follows Beaumont and PA , who said " sissy ball was coming to PNG" and sissy ball promoted weak defenses. Maybe so but i'll take what we got.

Last but not least I want to take this time to give credit to our School Board for sticking to their guns and hiring the right coach. They received a lot of heat for requiring a masters degree. Most here felt we were bypassing the best coaches by requiring this. Well, I guess not because we definitely got the right coach for us. And to boot most of the coaches that came with Faircloth also have Masters Degrees. We had a local coach that wanted to talk to our Superintendent about the job after the application deadline and the School Board did the right thing.

I have also seen some posts lately about SOME of the PNG fans getting cocky. Even though i'm not one to talk and predict we will blowout anybody, I say the fans who want to have the right to after all the talk last spring and summer.

Ozen's spread is already set at (-16), they would be in a bind.
Vidor's spread is at (+15), pending the supposed loss that would put them in the 3-4 4way tie.
Livingston's spread is at (-10) pending a supposed win that would put them in the 3-4 4way tie.
Lumberton's spread is at (-1) pending a supposed win that would put them in the 3-4 4way tie.
Nederland's spread is at (+12) pending a supposed loss that would put them in the 3-4 4way tie.

Lots still to be decided, easiest thing is Vidor and Nederland win.

Looking good for Vidor and Nederland.

A Vidor loss the next two weeks and Nederland wins out and Ozen splits creates a three way tie. Which goes to a coin toss right, since they would have all three beaten each other?
A three way tie is settled by point spread between the three. Example if team A beats team B by 7 and loses to team C by 1 then team A is +6. This is done for all three and the high number wins. Also, 18 is the max spread for one game regardless of the score. Thats why I have always said if you are not up by 18 you need to try and score until the final horn sounds.

The reason the coin flip was used after Hurricane Rita was because there were teams with the same record who did not play each other.

yea im sure png will handle barbers hill in bi district soundly like they did at the beginning of the season and after that i dont know what district they will be playing against????
Soundly = 1 pt win
Thats what I was thinking. Trust me it was a very sloppy win. We are a completely different team now than what we were in week 0. I would also have to assume Barbers Hill has improved.

I would have to say Trahan from Nederland. I watched this kid kick 3- 59 yarders in warm-ups before the PN-G game. I mean this kid has a leg!!!!
I agree. Trahan is a stud.
Trahan gets my vote.

That A&M Consolidated team was dang good that year.
I remember their big Running Back/ Linebacker Cliff Groce. He beat us by himself, just like Kendall Briles did in the Stephenville game in '99.

i remember a game in pasadena ,cold
    in the playoffs indians won
I remember that game. It was against Jasper.
I remember that game, too. There was a lot of hype because both teams were very good that year. PNG came out fast and never looked back. They had a bruiser at tailback and our defense just couldn't handle him. It seemed like they had the ball the entire second half. Ugly night for sure from a Bulldog point of view.
I remember a brilliant, gutsy move by Malone that game. After scoring second TD to get a 14 - 0 lead Malone had them on side kick and when PNG recovered it kind of let the wind out of Jaspers sail.

Who has the best defense that you have played or seen this year...other than your own team.
Hard to say, BH held us to our lowest of 21. But in all honesty they really didn't stop us, we stopped ourselves. That has been the case against most teams we have played. Not many have stopped us we just were making some drive killing penalties earlier. The last couple of weeks we have really improved on it and the scores have shown it.
  11. I have 100% confidence in coach Kroeker and the rest of his defensive staff, they are very good. I said late last spring that the most important thing coach Faircloth did was to surround himself with some very good assistants. All the coaches that came with him are very intelligent. In fact I remember all the talk about the job requiring a masters degree, and as it turns out most of the coaches that came with him here also have masters degrees. These coaches are whats making the difference this year and I believe they will have the D prepared. I still say Lumberton will play us a very good game and we will have to play our "A" game. Their offense is more balanced than Vidors and Livingstons, and they have a very good underrated defense.
