  1. I have not heard of anyone who has recieved their packet in the mail yet. Maybe this week.
  2. A betting man would stay away from trying to pick a favorite in 20-4A. Too many changes and unknowns. But, I would be comfortable picking Vidor for one of the top 4 spots. Just my opinion, I honestly believe they will be in the playoffs.
  3. The 6th game on that list(Garland/Katy) was the game that PNG/Stephenville followed. I was there for the entire Garland/Katy game as were many other Indians. It boosted the attendance for that game, just as the stayovers(which probably wouldn't be as many as the early arrivers) added to the total for our attendance.
  4. Freshman team was very good last year, we should have several Soph's that should contribute.
  5. PNG followed closely by Nederland. Nederland brings as many as we do for district games. We just seem to get a lot of support from the entire area for the playoffs.
  6. Some very good points on it being the first game under the new regime. We should definitely get better week by week, but I believe the staff will have em ready. I still believe you will see much improved team even in first game. Partly because of a great coaching staff and partly due to the fact we have a lot of room for improvement.Regardless, it should be a great game. Can't wait.
  7. You are correct bigdog...i guess it would have been more fair for Nederland to miss out that year with the same record as PNG AND a win over PNG as well...seems like PNG was on the good side of a big break a few years prior in their game with Ozen...anyone remember that...I'll bet Coach Brooks does! I agree if PNG takes care of its own business that year, then a coin toss don't matter. As far as the Ozen game a few years back, Nederland benefited the most from that good break. An Ozen win in that game would have left Nederland at home for the playoffs. That game for PNG was just a matter of sharing a district title or owning one outright.I remember the news clip of the Nederland people on their field following their game waiting for the outcome of the Ozen game fiasco. The field was full and there was a little praying going on. That was a funny site, Nederland praying for a PNG win. Ozen got robbed that night.
  8. PNG hasn't historically put any Freshman on varsity. I remember Dustin Long being moved up for playoffs, and Derrick Gohlke getting moved up late in season. I guess with the new regime this could be subject to change (who knows).
  9. I agree with you here ! The change from last year to this year is obviously apparent ! For the better. I'm not to overly concerned with the Defense. I went to alot of the practices and and scrimmages. This is the first time in a long time that I have seen our defensive players tackle with technique and skill and shear raw force. Give the D some more practice time and they will be alot better. Remember Faircloth is a new Head Coach, but the thing he has done is surround himself with assistant coaches that are from high profile and championship teams as well these new coaches have proven themselves. That in itself lends alot to me that he is very intelligent and that PNG FOOTBALL will be a force in the district for some time to come. He pulls the most out of those men on the field. My son went to the camp for incoming freshmen. I was so impressed with the skills taught and the techniques and the excitement that was flowing all over the field and stands. I don't know what team you were watching, but the PNG I watched on youtube sucked defensively! As far as your coach goes who said he's going to be a winner? He was offensive coordinator for Permian, which hasn't won anything since friday night lights. Some Indian fans act like this guy is Tom Landry or something. It looks like the offense will be better from what I saw, but heck that's not hard to be from what you guys had last year. The defense is going to down right suck. If Barbers Hill has any type of offensive weapons they will be in this game. Show that brilliance. Permian's record since arrival of Allman and his staff(Faircloth was OC): 2006 Made it to Regionals in Playoffs(9-4) 2007 District Champs Regional Playoffs again(12-1) 2008 District Champs Lost in Regionals to eventual 5A State Champ Allen (12-1) Permian had one of if not the best offenses in their region. Does that mean anything for PNG? Maybe, maybe not.But I am addressing the comments about Permian and our coach. So as far as that I don't believe West Brook and Stump would have wanted any of Permian last year. We got the best coach by far that applied for the position.
  10. Should be a good game, I believe both teams will be much better teams than last year.
  11. What does 4 rounds deep last year mean? In 1999 PNG played in the State Finals and did not make the playoffs the next year. For the record though I do believe that Central will be in the hunt.
  12. I haven't seen or been able to find any scrimmage schedule on the web for them. I wouldn't mind seeing them play.
  13. 75 Indians 99 Indians 77 Indians 98 Indians were probably close in comparison to any of the above they just ran into Dakari Pearson.
  14. Sounds like a kid to watch. We will be the first to get to see him. Looking forward to it.
  15. If people are going back to the 70's then add Doug Ethridge PNG 1975.
  16. I like Vidor's chances, I say they will be in the playoffs. I have always liked Matthews and wish him the best of luck.
  17. It may be a little indication of the talent coming up, but I think Freshman team would be a better indicator than a JV team. JV team is effected more by underclassman playing on Varsity. Not many freshman get to play varsity.
  18. Yeah it would be neat to see the difference in the teams in the playoffs versus pre district.
  19. Sounds like 194A will be tougher this year than in the past. It will make for some good Bi District games. Although we get to play Crosby and Barbers Hill the first two weeks of the season. We were fortunate enough to squeak out of both of those with wins which were few and far in between last season. Hopefully you will see a much improved PNG this season.
