  1. When you look at the resume he was the best candidate for the tax payers money. This guy is going to be good for us. Then tell me who on the LIST of candidates would have been better. We got a guy who led the best offense in his region. In his three years as offensive coordinator and QB coach he had three different QB's that broke the records of the one before.

  3. You could run some type of spread out of the shotgun, or if you going under center you would have to use a three step drop with quick passes. But, a small line doesn't mean you can't run. Good blocking schemes with a lot of misdirection would work. How about some misdirection out of the Notre Dame Box ?
  4. Making the playoffs doesn't mean as much as it used to, its watered down. I liked it when they had two teams. I sure hope we wouldn't have 4 out of 6.
  5. I think BC definitely has a chance to make the playoffs. As far as the first playoff game at the reservation, lots of possibilities: WOS, BC, Kirbyville, Newton, Anahuac.
  6. With the coaching changes who knows, a betting man would stay away from this one.
  7. Home games are rare regardless. Fork up the money and we MIGHT let Lumberton. They sure wanted to use it last year to practice on turf.
  8. Show me the money ...It will probably be a 3A game.
  9. I totally agree. Coach Faircloth has the expertise to offer advice at his finger tips if he needs it. They hired the right guy no matter what anyone says. I think any school in our area that is in the same situation of hiring would love to have him. But, we got him.
  10. Amen, ditto. You guys did the right thing.
  11. All the coaches leaving is a compliment to Coach Hooks.Thats the hard thing about a good coach like Hooks. A good coach always tries to but the best supporting cast he can around him and they get noticed and deservingly move on. Also a good learning oppurtunity for working under coaches Like Coach Hooks. Working for any coach of his level is a stepping stone.
  12. They seem to be doing a better job of getting some local players. They did not do this before. Maybe this will help put some people in the stands.
  13. I totally agree! We have the right coaches in place to bring PNG back to the outstanding football program that it once was! The right moves are being made, no doubt. Kudos to our school board and hiring committee, they truly did the right thing. They were catching a lot of flack over the masters deal, but appears they did the right thing after all.
  14. Never count us out we might play ya'll on a night where ya'll get "300 yards of penalties" in which 295 of were bad calls. ;D
  15. WE have to trust and support Coach Faircloth! The school board and hiring committee did their part now we must do ours and support 100%. Good times are coming back whether others like it or not.
  16. Good news, good luck Coach Faircloth.
  17. Good post NDNWarrior, there is definitely a lot of excitement in the community. The school board and hiring committee did exactly what one of them told me they were going to do.They did a good job, they hired the best fit for us and the masters requirement contrary to the beliefs of some did not hurt. I have read too some posts referring to hiring someone with no HC experience, because that is the only thing they can find to criticize with Coach Faircloth. And you are correct I have seen NONE of these posts from the PNG fans, only outsiders.
  18. Good post KHS, I hope too that the PNG faithful have patience and give him a chance. If we do I think we will be back on top.I think we got a winner.
  19. At this point you're right, not much talk about the Defense. Until we know what changes the new coach makes it will be hard to say. As far as the defense we had I felt Carl Broussard did a good job with what we had last year. Since he was from McNeese there was no change in what we have been doing for years(with the exception of year that Fischer ran it). He runs the same defense as Matt always did.
  20. I believe he has the right type of athletes coming up to make his offense work. We have some good recievers coming back. He has enough of them to spread the field pretty good. The question will be developing the right QB, which is what he does. I like his chances.
  21. Word is, Jasper may have their man also.
  22. Good post. I'm pretty sure Hooks, Barbay, and Neumann all had to start somewhere. I doubt too many are hired straight out of school as HC's. Faircloth led the Permian offense as offense coordinator, and did it well. Does he have HC experience? No, but im glad we chose to take a chance on him. I like what i've been reading on him.
