I thinks its pretty safe to say no one from Ned is a PNG wannabe and the same true for PNG being Ned wannabe's. I have to congratulate Nederland on an impressive win. No, excuses they beat us straight up and handily to say the least.

Can't see this one being played, at least not this weekend.

This has turned into one of the best post count pad parties I have ever seen.

You must be thinking of a different game Penny. In 1989 PNG won by a score of 41-7. That game started with a Ron McGill 76 yard TD run on the first offensive possesion. PNG's secondary took over from there and intercepted Mr English many times that night. I'm trying to remember which game it was you are remembering, but can't. Checking all the scores and can't figure it. Although one pretty good one was when it came down to a Joey Price 40 yard FG(which he didn't miss many) to win or lose and it was wide right by about a foot,Nederland wins. The best game that gets my vote is the PNG Shertz Clemens Semi Final game at Kyle Field. Dustin Long led an awesome final drive to close the deal.

Would be a good move for Lamarque. Imagine what he would do with the talent there. Ouch, thats scary.

I agree, Nederland should be the preseason favorite. After that I believe the next three are up for grabs: PNG, Central,Ozen,Livingston. The group of kids the Lumberton folks have been waiting for to come through are graduating in a couple of months. But, who knows sometimes winning breeds more winning.

Nothing wrong with a little trash talking from either side, just got to take your crow if you lose. Lumberton lost to us ( their only loss)and was good sports about it.They ate their crow like good boys.They do truthfully have a very impressive team, we could play them again and again and it could go either way the same as was that night.This should be a good game, too close to call.Gotta say ROLL TRAIN,MAKE US PROUD.

That is correct Hemmings did most of the middle duty. When you got a back as big and strong as Hemmings you got to with him in the middle.Wright did run traps a little but yes most of his carries were to the outside.

I'm with ya Soulja, just like Switzer said when he was at OU in the 70's "three things can happen when you pass and two of them are not good".Burnett got a lot of pressure to change to the spread at the beginning of the season, and uh well we saw how long that lasted.Yes you do have to be able to pass some to be able to run, but I feel the spread offense is not the answer for everyone. I like power, smash mouth,ball and clock control.

Guys Wright is a good back but is not the best back for PNG this year, Hemmings is! But watch out for Mr. Wright next year.He is quick to get to the outside and is deceptively strong.How about a 175 lb. kid that is bench pressing 400 pounds.

I still have a hard time going against Neumann with his back to the wall.I feel he will have his dogs ready.Nederlands run defense will have to be ready and Guittierez being out is not going to help. Lumberton will bring an offense very similar to PNG's. Hussey is tough to stop, and they did pass against PNG. I was impressed with the coaches son. He is a good receiver.I think if Luberton brings the pressure to the young qb as PNG did, then they can stop the pass.PNG only sacked him once but rushed him all night. After seeing both teams play I give Lumberton a slight edge (especially with Guittierez out), but I will never count out Neumann.He knows how to win and always seems to find a way.

Sure hate to hear about the injury, but this should be one heck of a game.

I still want him gone Razor, I agree it is crazy how everyone has changed tunes when the truth of the matter is Burnett gets beat up for a few seasons and then a good group of kids come through and saves his job. If he was truly better as you say than Nederlands he would have the consistency of Neumann.For me a good team every three to four years is unacceptable.You want find me crawfishing and blowing him uo now as the best coach in the area.

I don't think so, this is a good group of athletes. Most any of the coaches would be successful with this group.Ask this question again next year if Burnett and his crew stays.
