At some point if they don’t do both then they will get let go. That would motivate me to do my best as a coach. Just sayin enjoy the ride maybe the defense will catch up.

Your offense is your defense. As long as yall keep out scoring your opponents I wouldn’t worry about it. Enjoy the ride. Y’all have a special talent in Shug.

Am I missing something? Aren’t y’all undefeated in district play? Nobody’s playing defense in our district except Santa Fe and Nederland. Could be worse you could be 0 and 4 in district play.

Nobody’s disrespecting Nederland. Vidor knows they’re the underdog. When Vidor is not shooting them selves in the foot with penalties they can put up some points. They put 28 on Barbers Hill in the first half. I believe y’all had to come from behind in the last minute to just put up 27 points for the whole game against BH. Vidor knows what they’re up against. No need to start acting like Crosby posters.

After playing PNG & Santa Fe play I am going to go with Santa Fe in a close one. I hate to bet against Shug because he’s such a difference maker when he’s on the field but I think Santa Fe’s defense and play calling on offense will be the difference maker. Not to mention thier Qb can sling it. They are a very hard nosed and griddy team that’s well coached.

Personally I don’t think Vidor has a rivalry. Even though Nederland wins most the time when they play Vidor it’s usually a hard fought close game. The kids have played hard this year. Just a play here or there along with some injuries an Vidor could have a totally different record. Very competitive district for sure. Hopefully the Pirates will continue to leave it all out on the field and play hard.

At this point in the season the Pirates are just playing to be spoilers. Injuries are mounting. Just keep on fighting Pirates! Play for each other.

In past years PNG and Nederland has been Vidors Daddy for the most part when it comes to wins and losses. Now Crosby has a new Daddy in PNG an maybe even a Step Daddy in Nederland. To bad Crosby only gets to see there Daddy once a year! Who’s ya Daddy!

Agreed. I was at the Pleasant Grove / WOS Championship Game. They mix it up well. But you If teach your kids how not to pass the ball starting in Junior High then when they get to Varsity guess what ? they can’t pass the ball effectively.

Have to agree with you BH. We are short changing ourselves on the defensive side for sure. I believe the ability is there to be better on defense just don’t believe the coaching is there. Just my opinion. Pleasant Grove ran the slot T offense against WOS last year in the Championship game an they mixed in the pass perfectly with different formations. But you do have to have a decent defense to go with this offense are your going to lose a lot of heartbreakers.

If we sit back an give the receivers 5 to 8 yard cushions like last night without trying to put some pressure on the quarterback WE WILL GET OUR ARSES WHOOPED! Like I said on a different thread TRY something different even if you do it wrong. Good Grief!

Agree with a lot of the above but you can’t just give 5 to 8 yard cushions on every play an expect to get them off the field. If you bring more bodies than they can block you will disrupt the passing game in conjunction with playing man to man on the receivers. They had average speed at the receiver position. Do something different defensively even if you do it wrong. Some times you just have to gamble. Or you can just do what they did last night an wear the defense out. I am not questioning the kids heart or effort. But you have to put them in a position to have a chance to be successful. Doing the same thing over an over defensively an watching thier offense move down the field is insane.
