way to go Bucs and hats off to a Hf Team that played hard and never quit. Glen Roberts is so much fun to watch with his amazing cutbacks and speed changes. Ec's defense seems to be rock soild with the addition of number 44 as linebacker, welcome to EC, Cody Casey.  Hf 's #88 Mitch McCall played a heck of a game last night and the freshman #24 King looks to be something really special.    Go Bucs  .....  way to saw them off

Congrats to EC coach Kenny Hoffpauir for getting his 600th win last night. Quite a milestone in a coaching career and got to do it at home.

It always a good tough rivalry game against the Panthers. Sorry to hear of the loss of Albritton, but good luck for the rest of the season (except against EC )  GO BUCS.....

It's amazing no one ever gives EC a chance. Everyone always saying it is gonna be Newton, Anahuac, Woodville, Hardin or Buna"s year. Hate to tell you but EC has been and is still amongst the best in the district. GO BUCS

my son who attends college in the northeast describes the local area to his college buddies as a cross between Friday Night Lights and Swamp people. I Wanted to get mad at first, but then realized it is a pretty good decription.... Gotta love Southeast Texas!!!! ;D

Hank completed the summer program at TCU and was offered a spot on the 105 man roster. After much thought he decided to forego playing football and is going to attend Texas A&M this fall.

Good luck to Lance. Kountze chose a good guy with their selection of Lance , he will give every sport the respect it deserves, not just football.

I would bet the answer to his being let go is the same reason he has changed schools multiple times since EC.

One thing about EC if they see they made a mistake in judgement about a coach, they are not afraid to pull the plug and change dircetions. Stan Howard was a recent example. He was released at mid year after a winning season.

Asked Andy that at Regionals. said he loved coaching at EC but Tatum is home now and the talent is really deep and the future was bright for sports at Tatum

FYI....Russ Sutherland was one of the top canidates for the AD/ coaching position six years ago at EC. Plus with his brother having coached at EC he has a little history with the area.

From what I have heard there has been no final decision made and there was around 40 applicants. Hopefully the decision will be made and finalized quickly so the transition can begin. Coach V and Cauthern have already left for Galveston Ball.

Surprised Gilfilllian did not make the team. He led the Bucs in rebounds (16), points (13), and assists in the New Waverly game and was the rebounding and assist leader and 2nd in scoring vs Woden. Tallied double /doubles in most of the games this season.

Texas High School coaches selections to academic all state,  1st team Austen Gilfillian, 2nd team Hank Jones and Dallas Gibson. It just seemed to be a series of unfortunate events, EC was strong on defense creating opportunities only to throw the ball away or be called with some strange traveling calls. We were successful feeding the ball inside early then started settling for shooting the ouside shots instead. Their shots fell ours didn't. New waverly hit three 3's in the third on consecutive possessions which put them out in front for good. We didn't go back to the inside game til to late. Congrats to the Bucs on a great season and thanks to the seniors Adam, KC, Hank, Dallas and Austen for a heck of a fun ride in basketball and football. Now on to tennis, track and baseball to finish out a great senior year. GO BUCS... oh yea, thanks to AAW and SETX Sports for y'alls support

I will be rooting for the Lions tomorrow. If their three ball is falling, watch out because Kountze will be tough to beat. This is a different Kountze team from past years, as there is no superstars, just kids playing solid team basketball. I would love to see Kountze and EC at Regionals and get a chance to even the record for the season.. GO Lions... Go Bucs
