1.
Broncos need two scores in 3rd quarter   Bh playing great
Somebody frame this post!!!! ;D
 2. The Raiders lost two 3 year starters for the year in the Silsbee game, arguably the best O-lineman and best skill postition player.  With an already thin depth chart this doesn't bode well for District play.  A long year for the Raiders.
 3. John Dennis was the announcer last year.  He was the basketball announcer for years, during the early Billy Tubbs and Pat Foster years all the way into the mid 90's for sure.  He was an outstanding BB announcer and I would have put him against anyone.  Don't know why he isn't doing football anymore.
 4. I like their president.  An 8 times growth in enrollment is pretty good. He talks like Billy Tubbs and would play UTSA on a walmart parking lot if they would agree to it.  I predict they will be successful and wind up in the SLC.  Hope LU is gone by then.  They are giving LU more trouble in tonights game than most people thought.
 5.
First time to watch Lamar. They are up 35-20 at half. Bevil has a nice arm.
His downfall is he trys to throw a touchdown on every pass and forces too many passes which results in a lot of interceptions as witnessed by that last int!
 6. Me and my girlfriend went & saw the movie last Sunday.  It was really good.  Envious you guys played the course & got to meet David Cook.
 7. The less he says the better off he will probably be.  Trying to explain the unexplainable generally doesn't work well for a person.
 8. Nothing really to hang your hat on from this.  Why have a press conference.  He could use his time more wisely in preparation time for the game.
 9.

PNG won the state championship in 1974. They played Sterling at Lamar in the quarterfinals. Did they play the semifinal game in the dome that year?
In 1974 PN-G lost in the semis to I believe Brazosport. PN-G won state in 75.  In 1974 they played French at Lamar for bidistrict.
Thanks for the reply. do you know if Ricky Ethridge was the quarterback in 1975 for png? Also, what school did Jeff " the jet" Berjeron play for?
There were two Ethridge QB's, don't know which years Ricky played for.  Berjeron (Begeron) played at PN-G and graduated (I believe) in 1972????  I also think he was in school at the same time that Little Joe Washington was playing in Lincoln.  I was born in 1966, so I don't remember PN-G football before 1973.  I remember going to the playoff games from 1974 on.
I want to thank you for the information. I played for B. Sterling against png in the quarterfinal game at Lamar in 1974. I think Ricky was the quarterback. We won the 1st half of that game in the fog. The fog lifted in the 2nd half and the air attact took us apart. We had a much stronger offensive line than png that year but your defensive line was very quick. Ever since then I have believed in smaller but faster defensive linemen. I hope we can have a rematch in the playoffs this year. BH vs the "Indian Nation" that is. Good luck with the rest of your season.
I don't remember a Ricky Ethridge, but I do remember a Richey Ethridge.
 10. All of these games are too close.  Get him to a game far far away.  We could all use the break! ;D
 11. I am pretty sick of all this and honestly have been contemplating deleting my account here and on the other board.  I think I can find more productive use of my time.  Having said that, one reason ( and I believe I am in that camp ) that some people really are rooting for Prewitt is he has the makings of a classic underdog story.  Walk on who performs well above expectations and shows real signs of promise.  For God's sake, that is Woodard's story.  Truth is if he were starting he would still have some bumps in the road on the trail of experience, the same thing that Jeremy Johnson will have.  The difference between the two is raw athletic ablility that can be measured in time and distance.  That is where you get star rankings by recruiting services that set higher expectations and gives a kid the inside track on starting.  Without a doubt breakaway speed in the game of football is absolutely a great skill to have.  I, like everyone else want LU to succeed and hope that they do.  I personally need to step back and just go watch the games that I can and root for the Cards and leave the debates you guys.
 12. If you can find silver lining, it is LU improved 4 points from last year!  Lost by 26 last year and only 22 this year.
 13.
Believe the state record is 4,045 rushing yards in a season set by Kenneth Hall from Sugar Land in 1953
And in only 12 games!!!!
 14. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun.  Pretty brave to put your pictures on here!!!  :D  LOL!!!!  Hope to see the movie this weekend myself.  Trying to hook up with a lady friend who heard David Cook speak in Houston and she turned me onto the book.
 15.
I never thought Bevil should've even been in the discussion at QB this year. He had way too many turnovers last year at QB. I felt going into this season the competition should've been between Prewitt and JJ. Maybe Prewitt regressed during the spring and fall drills. I know he was  hurt the last two weeks leading up to the opener, and maybe that's why he was relegated to 3rd string. Like it or not JJ will be the starter by mid-season. You don't get a guy to transfer from a FBS school to be a back-up QB.
So using your logic, you stick with the FBS transfer no matter what?  Just wondering?
 16. Improvements in the O-line coupled with the weakest opponent LU has played yet was also a very beg contributor to six rushing TD's in that game.  That said, Garrett (which he is from your alma mater so say what you will, he is your guy, and if Logan or Venson start over him as the season progresses you will inwardly feel he is being slighted even if you publicly say otherwise) is a proven commodity, Venson is not.  Just have to wait and see how this plays out.  I am very dissappointed that Cody quit.  Not what I would have wanted to see him do.  His decision.  I personally don't think he should have been on the scout team, my opinion.  What is worse (my opinion) is how Doug Prewitt is being handled.  The kid showed a lot of moxy and leadership in the last three games of the season.  It looks as if Woodard take now is "thanks for baling us out of a season that could have ended disastrously last year, now sit down shut up and if I need you again I will call.  I have prettier ladies I want to date now".  JMHO!!!!
 17.
Adminbaberuth and I played the course in Utopia a few weeks ago and got to meet the author.  Admin shanked a drive into the cemetery and almost hit David Cook as he was filming promos for the movie.  He was very nice and even helped find the ball that was sitting on some poor woman's headstone.  :D  I'm looking forward to see it also. [Hidden Content]
What brought you guys to play the course?
 18.
Most Katy football players are done after high school, not so much for players at PAM. When my wife taught at Katy HS for four years they won two state champioships and played in a third and only a handfull of D-1 signees. A good HS program with less D-1 talent ;D 8)
And your point is?  This is the same formula that PNG used when is was a state power.  TEAM!!!!  The team is greater than the individuals.  A very well coached team of really good atheletes.  That is how Katy has been successful.  SE Texas schoolsshould follow that formula.

Hussey was to slow to play at this level, great kid and great hs back but at this level speed kills and that was his downfall!!!! I hope he gets his degree and comes a great hs coach somewhere!! If hes all that go elsewhere and tear it up. This is not pop Warner.
Yeah he was real slow, had 50+ Td runs agains Central and Ozen and a 70 yard td agains LaMarque.  Kid just had no speed at all!!! ;D

Thanks for clarifying that Central/Ozen/LaMarque are Pop Warner caliber programs.

 22.

I have to say that JJ should be the starter. Everytime Bevil attempts a pass he tries to force it in the endzone into coverage.....it doesn't work that way on the college level as you would think he knew this by now.
what game were you watching?  JJ might be able to hit the broad side of a barn, but thats stretching it...his last pass missed everybody by about 15 yds!  he isnt ready to be a college starter..maybe next year.......... Prewitt is getting hosed by woodard.
We agree on this one Puddin!
 23. Haven't heard but definately not on the roster!  He is a good back.  Wonder what is going on with that!
 24. New golf movie out at Tinseltown in Beaumont starring Robert Duval called 7 Days in Utopia Texas.  It is based on the book "Golfs Sacred Journey" by sports phsycologist David Cook.  I read the book and it is an awesome read.  Looking forward to seeing the movie.
